Was a bio-warfare agent employed to murder Poet/Nobel Laureate Pablo Neruda? According to El Pais:

“We are trying to identify the DNA of this type of staphylococcus aureus. In other words, to establish if it was common at the time or in the area, or if it was manipulated. There are previous instances of this occurring in military bases where the strains were altered. But what we are looking for is difficult: if it was an altered staphylococcus, we are talking about finding out the base or the country where it might have been manipulated”

So, who was it really, concerned enough to murder Neruda who, following the Augusto Pinochet coup d’etat, would possibly have set up a legitimate Chilean government in exile? You can blame anything you like on Pinochet, and with good cause, but clearly the threat represented in Neruda was to Henry Kissinger and by proxy, Richard Nixon’s CIA.

If so, no doubt the CIA, whose fingerprints are all over the Pinochet coup d’etat overthrowing the democratically elected Allende…

“declassified records show that Nixon .. ordered maximum CIA covert operations to “prevent Allende from coming to power or unseat him””

…will somehow expect this following logic to work in a public relations exercise:

Some toilet paper is scented.
Most toilet paper is flushed.
It follows, some flushed toilet paper will smell good.

In which case the CIA’s John Brennan, as CIA directors so often must, will instruct the Department of State ‘spokespersons’ (for instance propaganda parrot Marie Harf) to exercise one more of innumerable CIA media iterations to ‘make murderous shit smell good

The problem for you sub-humans running the CIA is, the gods will never forgive the murder of a real poet and your chickens are going to be coming home to roost:

“Once, far back in my childhood, when I had barely learned to read, I felt an intense emotion and set down a few words, half rhymed but strange to me, different from everyday language. Overcome by a deep anxiety, something I had not experienced before, a kind of anguish and sadness, I wrote them neatly on a piece of paper. It was a poem to my mother, that is, to the one I knew, the angelic stepmother whose gentle shadow watched over my childhood. I had no way at all of judging my first composition, which I took to my parents. They were in the dining room, immersed in one of those hushed conversations that, more than a river, separate the world of children and the world of grownups. Still trembling after this first visit from the muse, I held out to them the paper with the lines of verse. My father took it absentmindedly, read it absentmindedly, and returned it to me absentmindedly, saying: “Where did you copy this from?” Then he went on talking to my mother in a lowered voice about his important and remote affairs. That, I seem to remember, was how my first poem was born, and that was how I had my first sample of irresponsible literary criticism” -Pablo Neruda

VICE & The CIA

The CIA’s world of smoke and mirrors is coming home to roost at VICE News. In a 28 minute ‘investigative journalism’ film dripping lies and denial off the lips of ‘former’ (once CIA, always CIA) counter-terrorism officer Sabrina De Sousa…

…yours truly stumbled across some rather remarkable coincidences.

The 1st coincidence is, this convicted (for kidnapping) CIA Officer who denies any role in the actual Abu Omar (Italy) rendition, is the very same woman indelibly marked in my memory as a total stranger who smirked at me when our paths crossed when I was intensively hunted in Wiesbaden, Germany, in Summer 2008. Here is my (February 2014) short description of one of the several events I experienced that summer, provided to European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights:

One person etched into my memory, although I did not know who she was in the Summer of 2008, was then active CIA officer Sabrina De Sousa. She jumped out on account of her smirking at myself when passing on the street. She was clad partially in the casual clothing of South Asia, and gave me a knowing smile and expression that can only be considered remarkable, when encountered in a total stranger. This marked De Sousa in my memory.

Of the several attempts during this period, one attempt clearly resembled the technique employed in the ‘Imam rapito affair’, also known as the Abu Omar case, in which De Sousa was involved. I was returning from teaching class at Mainz, when I noticed an aberration (due to my training) in what otherwise would seem a normal and unremarkable event. A group of men dressed in the typical blue German workingman clothing, taking a break.

The circumstance jumped out at me as I approached for the following reasons; there was no conversation at all, they looked ‘posed’ (stiff, as if unfamiliar with acting), had American body language and what I would call ‘Delta Force’ physiques (the sort of body build you will typically encounter in hyper-physically trained special operations soldiers.) Other than clothing, they did not resemble German laborers at all. My route on the sidewalk would have taken me between what amounted to a close, half-circle of three of these ‘workers’, and the half-circle closed to the street by the open, sliding side door, to a white, windowless van with at least one occupant.

There was a fourth ‘worker’ sitting in the passenger seat (with door open) of a car pulled up closely behind the van, concealing the van’s identity plate from behind. He appeared to be a ‘backstop’ positioned in case I’d evaded or somehow came through the initial three poised to shove myself into the van. Clearly, it was expected I would walk between the half-circle and the van. I approached as if unconcerned, to get as close as possible for visual assessment and at the last moment, instead of continuing on the sidewalk into what certainly was a ‘snatch’ and ‘rendition’ trap (I could have been popped into the van and subdued in a matter of a few seconds, less than five seconds, certainly), I walked out into street and into possible oncoming traffic (and was lucky not to be run down by a car.) Evasion was simple.

The 2nd coincidence is, the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR) filing a criminal complaint against certain USA personalities with the German Federal Prosecutor and offering to produce De Sousa as a voluntary ‘tells all’ witness in the Abu Omar rendition case; in a context presented in the VICE film as on behalf of De Sousa:

De_Sousa_ECCHR.jpg - 1

It was 25 months ago, on 7 October 2013, I’d initially informed the very same organization of my circumstance…

Dear European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights

Great to see you hosting Jeremy Scahill. I invite you to look into a less famous case, closer to home.

My invitation for your organization is, to challenge Germany’s government on allowing JSOC, CIA & MOSSAD to run free in Germany for years engaging in criminal acts, up to and inclusive of both; the attempted rendition and assassination of this correspondent. As well, question why it is ‘responsible’ persons at the Bundestag sit on their hands with tails between legs when they damn well should have been raising their voices. It is my own firm intention there will not be any opportunity to claim ‘we didn’t know’ after the fact, like so many Germans did after the Reich’s defeat.

All the material you need to open a comprehensive investigation is located at my webpage

Most sincerely

Ron West

…and received this 8 October 2013 reply:

Dear Ron West,

thank you very much for your email… we’re .. closely following US-activities on German territory as part of worldwide human rights violations. As you might have seen on our website, we’ve been active against Bush, Rumsfeld and many others in a number of European jurisdiction as well as against the German government regarding CIA-renditions. However, we’re not able to support individual cases, but will certainly have a look at them to include them in our comprehensive strategies. We’ll continue our work on the issue.

Best regards

Subsequent to this I had, clearly without any expectation of personal representation…

Dear [ECCHR person]

A most sincere, absolutely grateful thank you, for your reply, a first from any Human Rights affiliated group in six years of soliciting a correspondence relating to my circumstance.

I do invite a look at my case without expectation of any commitment to individual advocacy on my behalf. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have, give you permission to speak to anyone regarding myself and I waive any right of anonymity in any reference to my alleged circumstance, when referenced in any report you may see fit to include my case in.

My kindest greetings

…had gone on to provide ECCHR strong testimonials to my character & veracity, as well as a chronology of my experiences, to include my encounter with De Sousa and how she fit the overall picture. Now, it comes about the ECCHR’s “not able to support individual cases” was applicable in my case but not in the case of De Sousa, a person the ECCHR had been informed is complicit in attempted kidnap and murder on German soil. So, what gives here? I have some thoughts on that but first the next coincidence:

3rd coincidence. Between my initial contact with ECCHR and the present circumstance of ECCHR attempting the rehabilitation of a convicted kidnapper in the Italian Abu Omar case, Sabrina De Sousa, whom they’d been informed by myself is implicated in nearly identical circumstance in Germany, I had devised a legal strategy (posted online) also provided to ECCHR that appears to have been adopted by the ECCHR in partnership with the British group Reprieve. But they couldn’t have done a better job of messing it up as if that was the real intent. In short, ECCHR (together with Reprieve) sued in German court to hold Germany to account as complicit or enablers of the USA’s illegal drone wars by hosting the USA’s military. They could have made a much stronger political points case with going after the Iraq war crimes with information developed by so many sources so as to be irrefutable, using the German legal principle of Völkerstrafgesetzbuch (universal jurisdiction), for instance pursuing the torture camp/death squads set up under General Petraeus during his first tour of Iraq, information developed by the Guardian:

But instead ECCHR followed a narrow line of focus on drones where proving the German legal liability was nebulous and managed a loss; setting a precedent in German law strengthening their purported adversaries. Now, with this NEGATIVE precedent set, ECCHR has filed a criminal complaint in a larger process of rehabilitating De Sousa irrespective of information in their hands indicating she is complicit in crimes committed on German soil exterior to USA military installations in the case of yours truly, the by far stronger case to bring the USA to account in German courts. Ignoring this, instead it would appear ECCHR is following the losing strategy of the previous case; relying on the idea the plane used in the Abu Omar rendition touched down at the USA’s Ramstein Air Base, placing the jurisdiction once again where the German courts will hesitate to reach.

According to De Sousa in the VICE film, she is willing to ‘tell all’ to the German prosecutors but with a reservation; she refused to share any of this information with the VICE reporter who treats her with kid gloves throughout.

WTF are the possibilities?

  1. De Sousa resigning the CIA is a cover story and she’s actually engaged in an agency operation to shut down certain legal avenues to persons such as myself while in process of feeding disinformation to the German authorities.
  2. The ECCHR is compromised by intelligence agents along the lines of Francis Boyle’s discoveries at Amnesty International where human rights are gamed by the likes of CIA & MI6.
  3. The ECCHR is absolutely incompetent and is being gamed by De Sousa, a loose cannon the CIA is in turn gaming & perfectly content to allow run loose like a maniac and attempt to tell everything (an accomplished liar knows) to German prosecutors because the CIA can shape the course of events to shut down certain legal avenues to CIA advantage.
  4. VICE reporters and producers believe in virgin birth and report the moon is made of green cheese per the quote of former CIA Director William Colby: “the Central Intelligence Agency owns everyone of any significance in major media
  5. Some ‘the fix is in’ combination of the preceding possibilities.
  6. All of this is just a fantastic coincidence.

So, what did I do? Well, I did this:

To: Federal Republic of Germany Prosecutor
Re: Criminal complaint

Dear Prosecutor for the Federal Republic of Germany

It has come to my attention the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR) has filed a criminal complaint either on behalf of, or directly relevant to, (former) CIA officer Sabrina De Sousa (see attached 1.) This communication is a cross-filing requesting 1) the De Sousa related ECCHR criminal complaint be expanded to include my alleged encounter with De Sousa in Wiesbaden, Germany, Summer of 2008 (see attached 2.)

In that I am alleging circumstance pointing to Sabrina De Sousa in collusion with the attempted rendition and/or murder of myself on German soil, it is requested all of the possible sources, whether German law enforcement, or German intelligence agencies be made to surrender their records for purposes of prosecution without regard for political considerations or alliance; in that it cannot be in the best interest of the German state to countenance attempted rendition and/or assassination in deference to political interests within German institutions, nor on behalf of state actors and alliances originating exterior to the borders of Germany but complicit in crimes on German soil.

Mr Strobele, as a member of the German Parliament intelligence oversight committee, has been apprised of my circumstance for quite some time; and has sat on his hands despite my having confirmation he is in receipt of my mails and information. As well, the several German security institutions I further allege are well informed as to the facts of my case, have failed to act previous to this; yet there is no hesitation to preemptively arrest and pursue prosecution of non-state terror actors without requiring the niceties of the intended victims/targets filing a complaint. In this instance I am also requesting the German government investigate itself per the lack of enforcing the law and insuring norms of a civilized, democratic society bound to the rule of law are upheld in future.

What the western press will not report; United Nations General Secretary Ban Ki Moon stating:

“The future of President Assad must be decided by the Syrian people. It is totally unfair and unreasonable one person takes the whole political negotiation process hostage

“The Syrian government insists that President Assad should be part of [the transitional government]; many countries, particularly the West, say that there is no place for him

“Because of this we have lost three years, with more than 250,000 dead, more than 13 million people, over half of the population, is displaced inside Syria in urgent need of humanitarian aid, more than 50% of hospitals, schools and infrastructure have been destroyed”

Now, how does one read this? If you carefully look at the context indicating Assad’s future is up to the Syrian people in the first sentence, the second sentence of the 1st paragraph only makes sense if Moon is referring to the 2nd paragraph’s western demands Assad must go is how it came about one person ‘takes the whole negotiation process hostage.’

Time, CNN, Washington Post, New York Times and the lot of America’s CIA media whores…

…will never report the United Nations Secretary General has pointed his finger squarely at the Western democracies as responsible for the train wreck that is Syria –

A necessary post; having previously pushed Zero Hedge as a good source.

This one is firstly about following the money. And then, it’s about that money purchasing the hemlock fed to the masses via media. Then, it’s about Zero Hedge taking a drink of the hemlock spiked Kool-Aid. And finally, it’s about correcting the record.

Following the money. The long time CIA liaised Ford Foundation is a philanthropic front for laundering money to ‘alternative media’ (among other projects), where the message is shaped to taste of those social psychology trained, professional information operations specialists operating out of Langley, Virginia. One of the beneficiaries of the Ford Foundation largess is The Nation Institute, sponsor of TomDispatch. Tom Engelhardt, a clinical example of a narcissist who recently used the personal pronoun ‘I’ 49 times in a single article, runs TomDispatch.

Engelhardt’s ‘alternative media’ is perhaps best described as a ‘woe is me’ professional hand-wringing that more often than not, appears to seek instilling a sense of helplessness through what appears on its face to be carefully detailed outrageous acts of government that is long on generic ‘we’ve been here before’ lessons and short on incisive insights to the actual goings on; for instance, what appear to be intelligence failures due to some science fiction worthy, byzantine bureaucratic monolith, at fault. But in fact, his disingenuous analysis detracts from the reality, one could say conceals the facts, of an intense criminal endeavor that must be papered over in order to shield the perpetrators – in this case, the CIA.

So, Engelhardt begins his ‘Fog of Intelligence‘ disinformation piece with:

1,500. That figure stunned me. I found it in the 12th paragraph of a front-page New York Times story about “senior commanders” at U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) playing fast and loose with intelligence reports to give their air war against ISIS an unjustified sheen of success: “CENTCOM’s mammoth intelligence operation, with some 1,500 civilian, military, and contract analysts, is housed at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, in a bay front building that has the look of a sterile government facility posing as a Spanish hacienda.”

Engelhardt has just set his readers up with an exaggeration concealing the facts. We’ll come back to this. Englehardt goes on:

Think about that. CENTCOM, one of six U.S. military commands that divide the planet up like a pie, has at least 1,500 intelligence analysts (military, civilian, and private contractors) all to itself. Let me repeat that: 1,500 of them. CENTCOM is essentially the country’s war command, responsible for most of the Greater Middle East, that expanse of now-chaotic territory filled with strife-torn and failing states that runs from Pakistan’s border to Egypt. That’s no small task and about it there is much to be known. Still, that figure should act like a flash of lightning, illuminating for a second an otherwise dark and stormy landscape.

Now, Englehardt, incorporating melodramatic prose to an article that rips American intelligence as essentially failed, rubs (or attempts to rub) into the readers mind the ‘one thousand, five hundred’ CENTCOM intelligence analysts who will have (the article implies throughout) failed to produce a useful product on the Middle East. To demonstrate this (without having to dissect the entire 2,800 word article) we only need look at Egelhardt’s ‘facts’ concerning Iraq, proposing:

At that time, U.S. military leaders and top administration officials right up to President Obama were, as the Wall Street Journal reported, “caught off guard by the swift collapse of Iraqi security forces” and the successes of the Islamic State in northern Iraq. Peter Baker and Eric Schmitt of the Times wrote in retrospect, “Intelligence agencies were caught off guard by the speed of the extremists’… advance across northern Iraq.” And don’t forget that, despite that CENTCOM intelligence machine, something similar happened in May 2015 when, as Washington Post columnist David Ignatius put it, U.S. officials and American intelligence were “blindsided again” by a very similar collapse of Iraqi forces in the city of Ramadi in al-Anbar Province.

Recalling Carl Bernstein (CIA and the Media) “The Agency’s relationship with [The New York] Times was by far its most valuable among newspapers, according to CIA officials. [It was] general Times policy … to provide assistance to the CIA whenever possible.”

And CIA Veteran Melvin Goodman’s take on the Washington Post’s novelist-contributor David Ignatius is “Mainstream media’s apologist for the CIA”… have a read of the Defense Intelligence Agency’s EXCELLENT assessment of the event’s Engelhardt presents as intelligence failures in Iraq:

^

Notably from the DIA assessment:

“this creates the ideal atmosphere for AQI [al-Qaida in Iraq] to return to its old pockets in Mosul and Ramadi, and will provide a renewed momentum under the presumption of unifying the jihad among Sunni Iraq and Syria and the rest of the Sunnis in the Arab world against what it considers one enemy, the dissenters [Shia Islam] ISI could also declare an Islamic state through its union with other terrorist organizations in Iraq and Syria, which will create grave danger in regards to unifying Iraq and the protection of its territory.

In fact CENTCOM had all of the timely (the DIA analysis is from 2012) information it needed to cope with the circumstance unfolding in Iraq that Engelhardt (parroting the NY Times and Washington Post) blames on intelligence failure. That we know the DIA assessment was discussed at the highest levels is revealed by then head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, General Mike Flynn, where the gift of Western Iraq to what became Islamic State, in General Flynn’s words “was a willful policy decision”

What General Flynn cannot say but is available from numerous open sources is, it was a CIA strategy (no doubt recorded in the redacted portions of the DIA assessment) to empower Salafist militia, inclusive of al-Qaida, leading to the rise of Islamic State, as a policy pointed towards the overthrow of Assad in Syria:

Frequently the man who carried out dirty jobs, Bandar bin Sultan … return in July 2012, alongside former CIA Director David Petraeus, was his final bet on the success of his political future.

Bandar had been bold enough to invest all his cards, including al-Qaeda, to win the deal of his life by overthrowing the Syrian regime.

Clearly the CIA cannot have it be widely known what are named ‘intelligence failures’ by Engelhardt concerning Iraq are in actuality clearly articulated, calculated risks that have imploded precisely per the Defense Intelligence Agency assessment prediction and were a “willful policy decision.”

TomDispatch has just covered the CIA’s butt in this matter, this much is clear. Even more disturbing (from yours truly point of view) is, Zero Hedge, more typically a reliable source, has picked up this hemlock and drank it down. The CIA’s information operations people will take what they can get, every time.

Engelhardt’s exaggeration concerning the 1,500 CENTCOM analysts would be, 20 nations; Afghanistan, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan and Yemen, split evenly between countries, equals 75 analysts per nation. With several senior analysts per country in charge of work product and building the assessments, example given, would be perfectly manageable and far removed from the artificial reality created by Engelhardt.

Postscript would be, the going on four years CIA program laundering weapons and training to Salafist militia via the fig leaf ‘Free Syrian Army’ is almost certainly why the Americans refuse to share intelligence with the Russians on Islamic State, Al-Nusra and other radical groups; because there are no moderates aligned with the USA, the only real moderates are on the side of Assad. Anyone with common sense would only have to look at lesson of Libya to know which side they’d wish to join –

Update: zerohedge goes on to publish an article by Eric Zuesse, giving impression the “28 pages” will point to Saudi Arabia’s employ of al-Qaida as the sole responsible actors for 9/11 (altogether ignoring, among many other things, Dick Cheney’s role)

The extra-constitutional order born out of the National Security Act of 1947 is when the American state finally went completely off the rails in regards to the rule of law. This is when corporations became welded to the new ‘national security state’, undermining the constitutional order so completely, the rise and entrenchment of an unaccountable shadow government was inevitable:

http://now.tufts.edu/articles/shadow-government

What few people understand within and without the USA is the composition of this dark entity. There are competing factions represented in two larger camps of neo-liberal and neo-conservative, where there is a power struggle. Both camps are criminal actors relating to there is a fusion of corporate board policy to every department of government at every level, not least intelligence agencies with actors with broad capacity to act independently of any legitimate oversight. Within this hidden framework, endless deceits and subversion play out, with each side seeking to undermine the other. A leech fastened to this sick animal is the Israeli Zionist element in the USA, AIPAC, propped up by a much larger and more powerful Christian Zionist element consisting of a messianic ‘Christian millennial’ social phenomena whose beliefs system is quite openly and honestly laid out by the apocalyptic, neo-conservative author Tim LeHay:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left_Behind

^ People who actually believe in this stuff are in control of the Pentagon, and also make up a disproportionate of the United States military officer corps and it is the Air Force (where the majority of the USA’s nuclear stockpiles are kept in custody) is the most thoroughly infected. These are the people with the upper hand:

This stuff isn’t touched by the left’s ‘alternative mainstream media’ and the neo-conservative outlets on the right posing as alternative media (e.g. The Daily Beast) of course will never dig into the criminality of their own players. Why doesn’t the left touch it? Probably because of several factors; 1) there is a lot of overlap between the camps, the two cooperate in crime having to do with areas of mutual interest, you can’t dig into one without stumbling across complicity of the other 2) plain old narcissism leading to a blinding denial, for instance the American left’s inability to honestly examine the relationship of Daniel Ellsberg to Edward Lansdale because it would shake the foundation of their political mythology and open other (practically religious) icons Julian Assange, Ray McGovern, Robert Parry, et al, to serious question and examination 3) leading to obvious next assumption; the American left is so thoroughly compromised by intelligence assets, witting and unwitting, they’ve been effectively castrated:

Will the Real Daniel Ellsberg Please Stand Up!

With the several preceding (named) players consistently steering people’s attention away from the real danger zones, the apocalyptic-messianic, Christian millennial neo-conservative camp has all but won. In other words, we could call the composite circumstance an upcoming, messianic ‘Armageddon 4 U’ (whether you like the facts or not)

Re: intel assessment from Zero Hedge

To the several German parliamentarians:

Up to date intelligence from ‘Tyler Durden’ (pseudonym) at Zero Hedge, a consistent source of accurate intelligence, is pasted in, below.

Relevant to this very good assessment, another, 2012 Defense Intelligence Agency assessment, should be recalled; bluntly stating the “western powers” strategy had been the support of al-Qaida and rise of ‘a Caliphate” (predicting Islamic State.) @ https://www.scribd.com/doc/268764979/DIA-assessment-public-domain

This raises a long overdue question; when have western oil companies fusion with the “western powers” intelligence agencies creating policy via the several western democracies executive branches become anti-democratic criminal enterprises?

USA, UK & Germany complicity @ http://www.tamilguardian.com/article.asp?articleid=5582

CIA’s David Petraeus complicity (laundered via Saudi Arabia) @ http://english.al-akhbar.com/node/19443

All preceding examples stem from initial strategy to overthrow Assad in 2012, resulting in Europe awash in refugees from the crimes of those attempting to geopolitically engineer Assad’s overthrow, crimes dwarfing the crimes of Assad.

Now, David Petraeus is lobbying (would appear includes current German Minister of Defense whom he’d been in attendance with at Bilderberg) to legitimize Al-Nusra (al-Qaida) as a “western powers” strategic asset @ http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/08/31/petraeus-use-al-qaeda-fighters-to-beat-isis.html

All of the preceding, taken together with the new intelligence assessment (below) point to escalation of criminal geopolitical engineering undermining stability throughout our world. Which democratic principles authorize this? Any of this?

Two days ago we reported something which we had anticipated for a long time but nonetheless did not expect to take shape so swiftly: namely, that with Assad’s regime close to collapse and fighting a war on three different fronts (one of which is directly supported by US air and “advisor” forces), Putin would have no choice but to finally intervene in the most anticipated showdown in recent history as “Russian fighter pilots are expected to begin arriving in Syria in the coming days, and will fly their Russian air force fighter jets and attack helicopters against ISIS and rebel-aligned targets within the failing state.”

This was indirectly confirmed the very next day when an al-Nusra linked Twitter account posted pictures of a Russian drone and a Su-34 fighter jet – the kind which is not flown by the Syrian air force – flying over the Nusra-controlled western idlib province.

Another twitter account said to have captured Russian soldiers in Zabadani “while fighting for Assad”

Also, one day after our report, the Telegraph reported that “Syrian state TV reportedly broadcasts footage of Russian soldiers and armoured vehicle fighting alongside pro-Assad troops.” According to the article, “the video footage claimed to show troops and a Russian armoured vehicle fighting Syrian rebels alongside President Bashar al-Assad’s troops in Latakia. It is reportedly possible to hear Russian being spoken by the troops in the footage.”

It added that “a Russian naval vessel was photographed heading south through the Bosphorus strait carrying large amounts of military equipment, according to social media and a shipping blog” while “an unnamed activist with the Syrian rebel group the Free Syrian Army told The Times: “The Russians have been there a long time.”

“There are more Russian officials who came to Slunfeh in recent weeks. We don’t know how many but I can assure you there has been Russian reinforcement.” ”

Then earlier today we got the closest thing to a confirmation from the White House itself which confirmed that “it was closely monitoring reports that Russia is carrying out military operations in Syria, warning such actions, if confirmed, would be “destabilising and counter-productive.”

Obama spokesman Joshn Earnest essentially confirmed Russia was already operating in Syria when he said that “we are aware of reports that Russia may have deployed military personnel and aircraft to Syria, and we are monitoring those reports quite closely.”

“Any military support to the Assad regime for any purpose, whether it’s in the form of military personnel, aircraft supplies, weapons, or funding, is both destabilising and counterproductive.”

And another confirmation: “a US official confirmed that “Russia has asked for clearances for military flight to Syria,” but added “we don’t know what their goals are.”

“Evidence has been inconclusive so far as to what this activity is.”

Other reports have suggested Russia has targeted Islamic State group militants, who have attacked forces loyal to Russian-backed Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad.

Both the White House and the Pentagon refused to say whether they had intelligence suggesting the reports were accurate.

Of course, what is left unsaid is that since Russia is there under the humanitarian pretext of fighting the evil ISIS, the same pretext that the US, Turkey, and the Saudis are all also there for, when in reality everyone is fighting for land rights to the most important gas pipeline in decades, the US is limited in its diplomatic recoil.

Indeed as we sarcastically said last week: “See: the red herring that is ISIS can be used just as effectively for defensive purposes as for offensive ones. And since the US can’t possibly admit the whole situation is one made up farce, it is quite possible that the world will witness its first regional war when everyone is fighting a dummy, proxy enemy which doesn’t really exist, when in reality everyone is fighting everyone else!”

Which now effectively ends the second “foreplay” phase of the Syrian proxy war (the first one took place in the summer of 2013 when in a repeat situation, Russia was supporting Assad only the escalations took place in the naval theater with both Russian and US cruisers within kilometers of each other off the Syrian coast), which means the violent escalation phase is next. It also means that Assad was within days of losing control fighting a multi-front war with enemies supported by the US, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, and Putin had no choice but to intervene or else risk losing Gazprom’s influence over Europe to the infamous Qatari gas pipeline which is what this whole 3 years war is all about.

Finally, it means that the European refugee crisis, which is a direct consequence of the ISIS-facilitated destabilization of the Syrian state (as a reminder, ISIS is a US creation meant to depose of the Syrian president as leaked Pentagon documents have definitively revealed) is about to get much worse as 2013’s fabricated “chemical gas” YouTube clip will be this years “Refugee crisis.” It will be, and already has been, blamed on Syria’s president Assad in order to drum up media support for what is now an inevitable western intervention in Syria.

The problem, however, has emerged: Russia is already on the ground, and will hardly bend over to any invading force.

So, WikiLeaks has begun releasing the ‘Saudi Cables’ and wouldn’t you know it, that comes the very next day after Saudi Arabia has begun a serious process of ‘entente cordiale’ with Russia. A truly ‘whaddaya know’ moment. I could leave the entire subject there but, some people would appreciate the facts spelled out.

Per part two of a recent, preceding post at this site, Truth Jockeys, it is noted there had been a sea change in the ruling family of Saudi Arabia this past year, where at the beginning of 2014, with the rise of Islamic State, the Prince Bandar Sultan (American neocon aligned) faction that had long controlled Saudi Arabia’s intelligence and external security apparatus, after decades of doing CIA dirty work, had finally begun to be put out of business. The CIA’s brain-child (what became Prince Bandar’s pet project) and asset but now seriously compromised al-Qaida, represents a functional relationship that suddenly vanishes like a vapor evaporates. By now, the CIA no longer has Saudi Arabia’s intelligence agency to launder its operational objectives incorporating Salafist militia, a habit finally having gone horrifically wrong with the birth of Islamic State, a very real existential threat to the Saudi kingdom.

This not so small development combines with another recent geo-political change, Obama’s beginning thaw with Iran (initially, the nuclear issues to be set aside.) Obviously the Saudis have had an up close and personal encounter with reality, face to face as they are rounding up returned Salafist veterans of Iraq & Syria, for execution:

litmus_test1-1

“the royal orders were a clear message to Saudi fighters, civilians and military alike, principally in Syria, but also in Iraq, Lebanon, and other places. It meant that a harsh fate awaits them if they decided to come back home. To avoid the grim destiny and severe punishment, they had to remain outside the borders and continue their mission until they perish or get dispersed in other fighting arenas, much like the first contingent of Arab Afghan fighters and those who emerged in Iraq after 2003, in Lebanon after the Nahr al-Bared war at the end of 2007, and those currently in Syria following the agreement between Saudi intelligence chief Bandar bin Sultan and former CIA chief David Petraeus in the summer of 2012″ [the link may be slow loading via internet archive]

What would the Saudi king’s message have been to Putin? ‘Ok, so we understand we cannot trust the USA to have our back, it’s a bitter lesson. We’ll help you kill off the CIA’s Salafist insurgencies (uh, sorry for facilitating that) plaguing Russia and its border states and you will work to keep a resurgent Iran off our back, understanding there is no love lost there .. and by the way, how can we help with the Iranians killing off Islamic State in Iraq?’ Or something along those lines.

And the very next day, following this meeting, WikiLeaks begins releasing the ‘Saudi Diplomatic Cables’ and one of the first picked up in the Western press concerns Saudi dirty tricks campaigns in Iran. Huh. Whaddaya know bout that.

The litmus test will be, whether the Saudi cables released detail the Petraeus-Brennan CIA cooperation-coordination with Prince Bandar’s Saudi intelligence, utilizing Salafist militia (since 2012) to undermine Assad with resulting rise of Islamic State and blow-back into Iraq:

litmus_test2-1

“Frequently the man who carried out dirty jobs, Bandar bin Sultan surrounded himself with strict regulations in relation to the royal family and its allies, especially the US. It should be remembered that Bandar was absent from major political decisions on more than four occasions since being appointed as general secretary of the National Security Council in 2006. His absence each time was due to a conflict within the royal family or the failure of a mission warranting the suspension of his political activity. His return in July 2012, alongside former CIA Director David Petraeus, was his final bet on the success of his political future

“Bandar had been bold enough to invest all his cards, including al-Qaeda, to win the deal of his life by overthrowing the Syrian regime. However, a royal order issued on February 3 criminalizing all Saudi fighters, civilians and military, was an indirect announcement of the failure of Bandar’s mission and the need to get him entirely out of the picture. The period following the royal decree concerning the fighters was merely in preparation for the royal decree ending his political career”

If these facts are not revealed in the released cables, the finger can be pointed squarely at WikiLeaks for implementing a USA intelligence (or possibly MOSSAD) post-Putin meeting retaliatory attack on Saudi Arabia, as a warning against mending relations with Russia (never was there a greater empire stooge in this one man’s assessment, than WikiLeaks’ Assange.)

Update 30 January 2017: What had the Saudi cables revealed concerning the CIA-Petraeus-Saudi intelligence-Bandar bin Sultan known cooperation with al Qaida in Syria nearly two years on WikiLeaks publishing? Answer: Nothing. Let me spell it out: N O T H I N G.

Re: Defense Intelligence Agency Assessment

To the several parliamentarians:

I wish to draw your attention to the attached (pdf file) 2012 document created by the United States Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) concerning Syria. In this document you will find the language:

“the West, Gulf countries and Turkey support the opposition…

“…there is the possibility of establishing a declared or undeclared Salafist principality in Eastern Syria .. and this is exactly what the supporting powers to the opposition want, in order to isolate the Syrian regime…

&

“ISI could also declare an Islamic State through its union with other terrorist organizations in Iraq and Syria, which will create grave danger in regards to unifying Iraq…”

My assessment here:

Bitter Frosting, Poisoned Cake

Relevant to this assessment, and the attached DIA document pointedly predicting the rise of Islamic State as direct result of the western democracies utilizing al-Qaida as a ‘strategic asset’ to isolate Syria’s Assad, I will note it was on David Petraeus watch at CIA when this policy had been implemented. David Petraeus is a known person of interest in war crimes in Iraq, feeding the sectarian civil war several years prior to his tenure at CIA aggressively pursuing policy leading to the rise of Islamic State:

http://www.theguardian.com/world/video/2013/mar/06/james-steele-america-iraq-video

David Petraeus is also identified as an extremist endorsing a Christian military by the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, and had been a part of that Pentagon cabal exercising impunity in the face of law mandating a secular military. But perhaps more interesting to your institution is, the present German defense minister’s name on a roster including that of the alleged criminal David Petraeus:

Bilderberg Attendees

I believe it is not only in the interest of the German people, but all of humanity, to demand answers of the present CDU/CSU/SPD coalition government of Frau Merkel as to the extent of German intelligence, not only possible military, participation in a crime of supporting al-Qaida, leading to the rise of Islamic State, as well demand answers as to any ongoing activities inimical to the general welfare of the western democracies in what is rapidly becoming an ever more dangerous world.

In this 1st segment of a two part, 1995 interview with former CIA officer Phillip Agee, if you begin about minute 46, he’ll state in no uncertain terms how it is radical Islam had spread; with the CIA intervention in 1980s Afghanistan. The CIA had provided training, weapons and supplies to ‘volunteer’ Muslim radicals from across North Africa and the larger Arab world. The ‘Afghanis’ (as they are known in their home countries as citizens who’d fought in Afghanistan) then returned home and began applying their considerable (CIA provided) expertise to organizing what became Al Qaida and other Islamic fundamentalist ‘terror’ groups.

Denial is when those responsible for creating a problem which has spun out of control, convince themselves they are the people necessary to solve the problem, resulting in a simple process of aggravation of the very problem they’d created. Here is a flashback in history pointing squarely to the CIA and a USA in denial as we plunge into aggravating, or perhaps better said, irrigating the weeds we’d planted, now taking over the garden our planet used to be:

We all should know the rest of the story; the Taliban won Afghanistan on account of the CIA anti-Soviet efforts, ‘Black Hawk Down’ was a result as the Islamists began to get on their feet in Somalia, and it just continued to grow and spread across the globe, as far as Indonesia in the east to the North African states in the west. Not only that, the USA & ‘friends’ opened the door wide for these groups in Iraq and Libya, has empowered them immensely with the efforts to overthrow Syria’s Assad, finally culminating in the Islamic State and American efforts to suppress what the had created only seeing events spin out of control. Behind all of this, Agee very properly points his finger at a very few powerful interests (multinationals) profiting from CIA activities directly involved with the spread of terror.

For those with time and inclination, the preceding video in its entirety is a quite informative background to today’s events and the second part (conclusion) is quite interesting as well:

Every now and again, one gets away from the CIA’s hit squads, Agee was one of those and he wasn’t the last one ..
