Syria was always about the multi-national corporate rich getting richer. It was RFK Jr, as a larger personality, stepped out of the establishment line and drew attention (however briefly) in mainstream, to the USA’s underlying motive for arming and otherwise supporting the intelligence agency fronted corporate mercenaries euphemistically labeled ‘moderate’© ‘rebels’™

“While the compliant American press parrots the narrative that our military support for the Syrian insurgency is purely humanitarian, many Arabs [correctly] see the present crisis as just another proxy war over pipelines and geopolitics”Robert F Kennedy Jr

Meanwhile, as Plan A or breaking Syria into several warring mini-regions that would preoccupy Assad’s presumed (compliant) replacement, has failed, the reliable multinational’s false-flag journalist, Robert Fisk, has declared ‘move along folks, nothing further to see here’

“The West might hardly believe it, but it now seems the Syrian war is ending – and Assad is the victor” –Robert Fisk

Not. In fact, not even close. The Plan B? An independent Kurdistan encompassing the de facto independent northeast of Iraq, the east of Syria, particularly the oil rich region of Deir ez-Zor, where the USA backed Kurds and Assad’s Syrian Arab Army are in a race for control as the Islamic State ‘caliphate’ is process of military collapse, and eventually the east of the eventually to be ‘non-NATO’ Turkey and the northwest of Iran. The roots of this scenario has been underway for quite some time, as noted at oilprice.com back in 2012 in an article titled The Making of Kurdistan: Oil, Investment and a Turkish Gamble [they lost]

Exxon-al_Qaida_deal.jpg - 1

What we see in the lead-up to today is, ExxonMobil making independent (of Baghdad) deals with Iraq’s Kurdish province and meanwhile paying al Qaida ‘protection’ money in the high style of geopolitical organized crime, all of which had been concerning resources dependent on a corrupt Erdogan for export via Turkey. Fast-forward to this morning and we see ExxonMobil front-man Netanyahu endorsing independence for the Kurds with the Iraqi Kurds upcoming independence referendum:

“Iraq’s Kurds plan to hold the referendum on September 25 in three governorates that make up their self-ruled region as well as disputed areas that are controlled by Kurdish forces but claimed by Baghdad, including the oil-rich province of Kirkuk

“Israel “supports the legitimate efforts of the Kurdish people to attain a state of its own””

Of course, this announcement is a trial balloon put out by Rex Tillerson’s (read ExxonMobil’s) front-man in Tel Aviv; against the updated backdrop of NATO ‘member’ Turkey actually now Russia aligned in every sense but formal alliance. Western intelligence is aware by now Turkey has been lost to Russia in everything but name, and Plan B is an independent Greater Kurdistan; initially comprised of portions of Iraq and Syria, with Turkey eventually to be splintered and instability fostered within Iran’s Kurd population. This will weaken Russia’s de facto ally Turkey with looming civil war, and keep Iran preoccupied with a second front in the USA-Israeli-Arab states geopolitical maneuvers against that nation; as well splinter Shia dominated (Iran accommodating) Iraq. Will Russia, Turkey, Iraq, Iran and Syria roll over and allow Kurdistan to come into existence? Don’t count on it.

With the demise of the Islamic State ‘caliphate’ across Syria & Iraq, Iraq will politely ask the USA military to leave and the Americans will have little choice. However the Americans will not abandon Syria and their Kurdish allies there, as well expect a robust CIA paramilitary support for the Kurds to remain in Iraq’s portion of the budding ‘Kurdistan.’

It is Syria where things are most tricky at this moment, with the race to control Deir ez-Zor province between the USA and Russia’s proxy armies. Meanwhile Turkey’s corrupt and criminal Erdogan has not only aligned with Russia but has increasingly alienated his larger Kurdish population, with a consequential reactive and growing indigenous support for Turkey’s Kurdish insurgency, while Iraq, with Iran’s support, is unlikely to sit idly on its hands and allow Iraq’s oil rich Kurd province to pursue independence unchallenged.

Thus, the stage is set for a wider regional, war with Syria at the center.

Probably the greatest (forthcoming) casualty in all of this, is the greater Kurdish peoples’ aspiration for self-determination; with enemies created on all sides and their guarantor a USA empire on precipice of collapse.

Of course, with a Pentagon not only unleashed to make its own policies independent of Trump, but also firmly in the hands of apocalyptic religious extremists with an aversion to Muslims…

“You’re telling me 28 to 34 percent of our military want 7 billion people to die” [believe in literal Armageddon] … “The simple answer is affirmative”

…and with a religiously stupid CIA in the mix throughout, any expectation of rational solutions should be pronounced ‘dead on arrival.’

And the CIA having its Syria paramilitary operations shut down by Trump? Canned laugh here. Not to worry over this cover story attending a shift in strategy, the Pentagon’s Joint Special Operations Command’s paramilitary operations are welded to CIA

I left this as a comment at Phill Giraldi’s Unz Review column. Time to time my comments are inspiration for my blog but this is the first one I’m bringing over here verbatim:

When the middle east was ‘decolonized’ (in name only) there were artificial boundaries left behind resembling those of the American Indian reservations where tribes with a long history of mutual animosity were forced into cohabitation. Secular strongmen kept a lid on the religious animosity between Shia and Sunni (the main and most problematic rivalry) in a region with an otherwise naturally decentralized body politic represented in various tribes and clans with local tradition of authority. There is no nation state tradition per se in the sense we know in ‘the west.’

The folly of attempting to impose western style (liberal) democracy on what amount to artificial entities to begin with (‘states’ comprised of arbitrary, colonial era drawn borders, incorporating peoples with longstanding differences and simmering animosities) is certain to see profound consequence. As much as it might be an undesirable short term and self-centered interest of less than noble parties to break these artificial entities up, the reality is any previous delicate balance has been so deeply compromised and poisoned, and the historic animosity between the areas indigenous rivals so stirred, there is no going back to the old status quo. ‘All the king’s horses and all the king’s men won’t put this humpty back together again.’

In the short term, America’s neo-cons (and neo-liberals) have, in a sense, won. But what? No one can predict where, when or what is going to come of this incredibly stupid gambit where the attempted overthrow of Assad was so great a fascination of converging, short-sighted interests, to go so far as to knowingly allow, nay, actually make that fostering, the rise of Islamic State.

Sunni Iraq is de facto broken off from Shia Iraq, Sunni Syria is effectively broken off from Alawite and Christian Syria and the Kurds, the largest stateless ethnic group in the world, is a wild card determined to have what they should have been allowed in the beginning, their own nation-state. Most Kurds are in Turkey with sizable populations in Iraq, Iran and Syria. Kurd national aspirations trump their largely Sunni religious affiliation. Erdogan, reflecting a long time Turkish chauvinism in relation to other ethnic groups, has destroyed what little rapprochement had been accomplished with not only Turkey’s own Kurdish population, but has alienated the Kurds of Syria and Iraq.

Phil [Giraldi’s] ‘destroying ISIS but how?’ has to take the long view where all of these complications are in play. Turkey, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Qatar all might give lip service to reasonable solution but the only solution they actually desire is Assad’s ouster and a compliant puppet to replace him. Meanwhile, the western powers have so much ego invested, they can hardly stand to turn a new page if they can’t write the script, although the ‘chickens come home to roost’ in Paris might have slapped some sense into Hollande, but we won’t know this for certain right away.

That sole, overarching fact is, international law and the United Nations, based in western traditions, are no match for the forces released with the meddling in this region by the no less than incredible stupidity of the western powers leadership. When the dust settles, let’s just hope it’s not radioactive –

“We’ve seen an outrageous attempt to terrorize innocent civilians, this is an attack not just on Paris, it is an attack not just on the people of France, but it is an attack on all of humanity and the universal values we share” -Barack Obama

Better had Obama truthfully stated ‘our clandestine agencies employing state terror to overthrow Assad has backfired’

*

Speaking directly to the above intelligence report, the western powers enabling the rise of Islamic State, according to the former boss of the Defense Intelligence Agency, General Mike Flynn, “was willful” & “a policy decision

Why didn’t Obama, Hollande and company consider their clandestinely promoting the rise of Islamic State as a device to overthrow Assad was “an outrageous attempt to terrorize innocent civilians [and] an attack on all of humanity and the universal values we share” ??

In this 1st segment of a two part, 1995 interview with former CIA officer Phillip Agee, if you begin about minute 46, he’ll state in no uncertain terms how it is radical Islam had spread; with the CIA intervention in 1980s Afghanistan. The CIA had provided training, weapons and supplies to ‘volunteer’ Muslim radicals from across North Africa and the larger Arab world. The ‘Afghanis’ (as they are known in their home countries as citizens who’d fought in Afghanistan) then returned home and began applying their considerable (CIA provided) expertise to organizing what became Al Qaida and other Islamic fundamentalist ‘terror’ groups.

Denial is when those responsible for creating a problem which has spun out of control, convince themselves they are the people necessary to solve the problem, resulting in a simple process of aggravation of the very problem they’d created. Here is a flashback in history pointing squarely to the CIA and a USA in denial as we plunge into aggravating, or perhaps better said, irrigating the weeds we’d planted, now taking over the garden our planet used to be:

We all should know the rest of the story; the Taliban won Afghanistan on account of the CIA anti-Soviet efforts, ‘Black Hawk Down’ was a result as the Islamists began to get on their feet in Somalia, and it just continued to grow and spread across the globe, as far as Indonesia in the east to the North African states in the west. Not only that, the USA & ‘friends’ opened the door wide for these groups in Iraq and Libya, has empowered them immensely with the efforts to overthrow Syria’s Assad, finally culminating in the Islamic State and American efforts to suppress what the had created only seeing events spin out of control. Behind all of this, Agee very properly points his finger at a very few powerful interests (multinationals) profiting from CIA activities directly involved with the spread of terror.

For those with time and inclination, the preceding video in its entirety is a quite informative background to today’s events and the second part (conclusion) is quite interesting as well:

Every now and again, one gets away from the CIA’s hit squads, Agee was one of those and he wasn’t the last one ..

Who is Sam Richards?

Sam Richards is listed by neo-con hate-monger convert David Horowitz as one of the “101 most dangerous academics in America.” It follows, Sam Richards must be a pretty smart and good guy.

This is a 2010 Sam Richards  (18 minute) video about oil and putting yourself in the shoes of an insurgent in Iraq. Today, it could be applicable to natural gas and Afghanistan, with Obama having pretending to have ended the USA’s role there but keeping 10,000 troops, mostly special operations forces, in that nation. Or, it could be about any number of the USA’s covert wars in Africa, whether about Nigeria’s oil or Congo’s diamonds, examples given. It could be about NATO backing the European Union looting of Ukraine in a provocation of Russia relating to the control of raw resources in a larger geopolitical context. If, as an American, you’re interested in knowing the real reasons why Americans are hated around the world, this is as good a place to begin as any:

About Obama’s $500,000,000 plan to train & arm the ‘moderate’ opposition in Syria… people would do well to consider the track record, something the U.S. administration seem incapable of weighing and making intelligent consequent decisions:

When American Trained Commandos Go Rogue

When reading these succinct examples of American trained commandos gone rogue, keep in the back of your mind that a dozen men trained in elite special operations skills can turn that knowledge into hundreds who in turn can pass the knowledge on to thousands of insurgents:

“Los Zetas’ [drug cartel] training as a local version of the Green Berets constitutes their foremost asset. In cooperation with their U.S. counterparts, the Mexican military created the Gafes in mid-1990s. Foreign specialists, including Americans, French, and Israelis, instructed members of this elite unit in rapid deployment, aerial assaults, marksmanship, ambushes, intelligence collection, counter-surveillance techniques, prisoner rescues, sophisticated communications, and the art of intimidation” -George Greyson, Foreign Policy Research Institute (2008)

^ Note “the art of intimidation” … the Zetas international drug cartel have sometimes introduced themselves with rolling severed heads into nightclubs frequented by their rivals .. oh, and have decapitated a ‘bakers two dozen’ in one fell swoop:

“A spokesman for Guatemala’s police described what they found on Sunday morning: “One whole body, 26 bodies without heads, and 23 heads”

And these same ‘stupid is as stupid does’ programs just go on:

“Syrian rebels who would later join the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIS, were trained in 2012 by U.S. instructors working at a secret base in Jordan, according to informed Jordanian officials.

“The officials said dozens of future ISIS members were trained at the time as part of covert aid to the insurgents targeting the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Syria. The officials said the training was not meant to be used for any future campaign in Iraq” -WND 17 June 2014, ‘Blowback! U.S. trained Islamists who joined ISIS’

Many, many dozens would have been the more apt description. Of course the USA allies, particularly Saudis funding these efforts might be a role model, your head can come off in Saudi Arabia for possession of new age literature and an accusation of witchcraft…

“The man, Muree bin Ali bin Issa al-Asiri, was found in possession of books and talismans”

Or you can be a minority Shia dissident in USA’s ally Saudi Arabia and be literally crucified:

“prosecutors called for al-Nimr to be executed by crucifixion”

I expect we can know where our CIA paramilitary and special operations forces trained commandos take their inspirations from…

Africa next?

“The secretive program, financed in part with millions of dollars in classified Pentagon spending and carried out by trainers, including members of the Army’s Green Berets and Delta Force, was begun last year to instruct and equip hundreds of handpicked commandos in Libya, Niger, Mauritania and Mali” -Eric Schmitt, New York Times 26 May 2014

Oh yeah, what a great idea, to mix the preceding with this next:

“an estimated 15,000 children in Africa’s Niger Delta [have been] denounced by Christian pastors as witches and wizards and then killed, tortured or abandoned by their own families” -Return to Africa’s Witch Children (documentary film)

Witches must be why Christian Taliban work out of the ‘Pentagon’

And finally:

“In 2013, the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) — one of the nine organizational units that make up the Unified Combatant Command — had special operations forces (SOFs) in 134 countries, where they were either involved in combat, special missions, or advising and training foreign forces” -The Tucson Sentinel, 18 September 2014

Great, just what the USA needs, thousands of armed, extremist missionaries proselytizing a ‘weaponized gospel of Jesus Christ’ across the world, that’ll make plenty of sober & thoughtful friends, you think?

And be certain to check out where the Islamic State’s top military commander received his training; should the USA’s Green Berets come as a surprise?

“He was a perfect soldier from his first days, and everyone knew he was a star,” said one former comrade, who asked not to be identified because he remains on active duty and has been ordered not to give media interviews about his former colleague. “We were well trained by American special forces units, and he was the star pupil”

Deep State V Economics & counter-insurgency

Update: On 26 November 2014 the Pentagon announced the deployment of A-10 ground attack jets to battle ISIS, nearly three months since this article had published, four months since the USA had begun bombing, five months since Iraq had requested help and many months since ISIS (IS, ISIL) had begun to consolidate control over large areas of Iraq, drawing on resources developed in Syria (oil revenue and American or American ally trained & equipped jihadis.) In the meanwhile, much ground has been lost and it will be much more difficult to roll ISIS back. Now, the question is, will the A-10 be used against Assad’s forces in Syria? If so, the policy is not to defeat ISIS but to overthrow the most effective force battling ISIS. If this happens, ask yourself, is the strategy to create chaos?

The Islamic State for Dummies, Part 2

So, we have the Pentagon claiming there are limits to air power halting the expansion of IS (ISIL/ISIS) into Iraq, as they drop one bomb at a time on a Toyota or Dodge Ram pick-up truck here and a captured humvee there, using F-15, F-16 & FA-18 fighter-bombers, the most expensive and inefficient option available. Huh?

bomb

So, what happened to the A-10 ground attack jet whose rapid fire cannon could bag IS columns like a lawn mower bags grass?

A-10

“The Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II “Warthog” is the only aircraft in United States Air Force (USAF) history designed specifically for the close air support mission.

“It was designed to be able to survive in an intense anti-aircraft environment including anti-aircraft guns, radar-guided and infrared missiles and be able to absorb battle damage and keep flying. In fact, the A-10 is probably the most difficult plane to shoot down ever built due to its extreme maneuverability, electronic countermeasures, self-sealing fuel tanks, widely separated jet engines, twin tails, manual backup flight control system and redundant wing spars.

“A total of 165 of these most recognizable and feared aircraft from 5 different units participated in Operation Desert Storm.  All units were formalized under the 354th Provisional Wing 144 aircraft at a time.  The remaining aircraft were replacements standing by at an off-site location to replace aircraft damaged beyond continued combat status or aircraft destroyed.

“Together, these A-10 and OA-10 aircraft conducted 8,624 sorties maintaining a 95.7% mission capable rate, 5% above A-10 peace-time rates, had the highest sortie rate of any USAF aircraft.  They achieved:

  • 967 tanks destroyed
  • 1026 pieces of artillery destroyed
  • 1306 trucks destroyed
  • 281 military structures destroyed
  •  53 Scud missiles destroyed
  • 10 aircraft on the ground destroyed
  • 2 air-to-air aircraft (helicopter) kills with the GAU-8A 30mm Avenger cannon

“Pilots often flew up to three missions per day with A-10’s accounted for destroying 1/4 of Iraq’s entire arsenal”

Now, with IS required to move in convoys across the desert…

IS

…and not having nearly the weaponry and territory of Saddam’s Iraq, it stands to reason a couple of dozen A-10 ground attack jets could be decimating IS expansion into Iraq, in short order. But instead we have a Pentagon claiming they have limited options. Again, huh?

Oh, BUT:

“The Syrian opposition said ISIL gained control of more than 60 percent of Syrian oil production. The opposition said ISIL was pumping nearly 100,000 barrels per day in the provinces of Dir Al Zour and Raqa. The sources said ISIL was selling the oil to neighboring Turkey. They said the Al Qaida force was preparing to capture the largest Syrian oil fields, located in the Hasakah province. An opposition figure, Yamin Al Shami, told the Saudi-owned A-Sharq Al Awsat that oil sales marked a significant source of revenue for ISIL. Al Shami said ISIL was employing Syrian and foreign brokers for oil deals”

Hey! That ‘Syrian opposition’ is the people the USA claims is their preferred partner to replace Assad… …as that same USA’s military leadership sits on its hands as IS kicks its partner’s (so -called ‘opposition’) butt.

What gives here? Pick your option

1) IS (ISIL) is selling Syria’s oil on the cheap to get the crude out through NATO member Turkey and people at the Pentagon have a hand in the wind-fall profit pie (recalling when stationed at Vung Tau, Vietnam, myself and other soldiers often had to buy our own food back from street stalls in town, to get a decent meal, as well recalling the command staff car that would meet the CIA’s Air America flights delivering heroin and high-grade marijuana to the base, our command structures were corrupt to the core)

2) The Pentagon doesn’t like Obama and wants him to fail (recalling General Petraeus escalated in Afghanistan with policies that totally alienated the populace, a recruiting gift to the Taliban that saw that war theater come apart like hell in a hand-basket)

3) The Christian al-Qaida at the Pentagon (and in Brussels) want literal Armageddon based on Bible prophecy, to get Jesus back, you know, the story line is we destroy the planet in high style, because that’s a certain road to paradise and predicted all through the Bible according to NATO military chaplains (and Pentagon darling Rick Perry’s evangelist buddies, the Pentagon’s choice replace Obama in 2016)

4) It’d be too embarrassing to admit the Israelis, Saudis and Turks, our allies, are up to their arms in IS bloodletting and have been from the get-go, with ample CIA assistance (especially not to mention our ally Saudi Arabia is on track to have beheaded 80 people in 2014, by the end of September, includes anyone criticizing the Wahabi sect of Islam and persons in possession of new age literature because obviously they are witches)

5) Because generating war is good for business with the generals moving over to corporate sector on retirement (the ‘triple your retirement pay’ plan, by moving over to selling and delivering bombs, from buying and dropping bombs)

A report released Monday by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington and the Brave New Foundation found that 70 percent of retired three-and-four star generals took jobs with defense contractors or consultants, a figure that has actually declined in recent years.

The report found that 76 out of 108 top generals took such jobs from 2009 to 2011, and a few continued to advise the Department of Defense while on the payroll of contractors. The report cited Gen. James Cartwright, who was elected to a paid position on Raytheon’s board of directors while serving on the Defense Policy Board. Adm. Gary Roughead also served on the board while joining the board of Northrop Grumman, earning $115,000 per year.

Eighty percent of generals retiring from 2004 to 2008 took such jobs, according to a 2010 Boston Globe investigation.

6) Terror is necessary to consolidate a ‘Dominion Theology‘ police state (see point 3, preceding)

Dominion theology refers to a line of theological interpretation and thought with regard to the role of the church in contemporary society. Dominion theology is also known as Christian reconstructionism and theonomy. Dominion theology states that biblical Christianity will rule all areas of society, personal and corporate. Christian reconstructionism reasons that society will be reconstructed by the Law of God as preached in the gospel and the Great Commission. Theonomy is a post-millennial view believing that all of the moral laws contained in the Old Testament are yet binding today

Think that’s overstated? Check this out:

In October of 2013, the Air Force quietly modified Air Force Instruction 36-2606, which [now] states that all enlistees must sign the oath to God and swear it aloud. Prior to the change in the regulation, secular and atheist service members were allowed to omit the phrase

So what mainstream journalists will generate adequate gonads and question the sanity of NATO Supreme Allied Commander (United States Air Force General) Phillip Breedlove, who seems to be playing a role in Dr Strangelove, on how it is only those who swear to serve Almighty God are permitted in NATO’s majority air wing:

7) The Pentagon is comprised in its entirety of egg-heads & idiots:

generals

^ Joint Chief of Staff chairman Dempsey’s egg-heads & idiots

8) The Pentagon has moved on from ‘the only good Indian is a dead Indian’ to ‘the only good Muslim is a dead Muslim’ where ‘Manifest Destiny’ is become the goal for the entire planet via empire:

deadindians

^ 19 Medals of Honor remain on the books for this 1890 massacre

9) Any combination or all of the above

f6

^ 21st Century US Military Chaplain Corps

So, ask yourselves, why is it every Pentagon policy only causes a bad circumstance to degenerate? And then ask this Commander-in-Chief picking his nose the same question (you can email the White House), maybe he’ll stop eating boogers long enough to think for himself:

NATO’s de facto Commander-in-Chief

But don’t hold your breath waiting for anything intelligent to happen, considering Obama is practically in love with CIA chief John Brennan…

The story that Hastings was working on at the time of his death centered around CIA Director John Brennan, the chief architect of President Obama’s foreign drone program. It related specifically to Brennan’s role as the administration’s point man tracking investigative journalists and their sources in Washington-
