I tried to post this comment at Phil Giraldi’s column at Unz Review; twice. Both times it vanished as though I’d never attempted a post, no ‘pending moderation’, it just disappeared.

Phil states:

More than fourteen years later it is perhaps past time to reveal what exactly the FBI knew and currently knows about both the scale and modus operandi of Israeli espionage in the United States. Did Israel have critical intelligence either in broad outline or possibly in specific detail about 9/11 and let it happen to bind Washington more closely to it in a “global war on terror?”

We’re not going to find out from the FBI and here’s why; James Comey’s trajectory was from HSBC board director, where he’d been brought on to plug leaks concerning that banks activities (includes laundering international narcotics trafficking and gun running monies) to FBI director.

Following a several years series, here’s a partial list of the leaked activities:

http://www.theguardian.com/news/2015/feb/12/hsbc-files-swiss-bank-hid-money-for-suspected-criminals

From earlier, here’s a bit more:

http://www.theguardian.com/business/2012/dec/11/hsbc-bank-us-money-laundering

Here’s Comey’s former HSBC board director position:

^ FBI Director Comey “served on the Financial System Vulnerabilities Committee”

Not exactly the guy you’d like to see in charge of the FBI but it follows a precedent; former FBI director Robert Mueller had been the point man at the DoJ who sabotaged the prosecution of HSBC guns and narcotics trafficking money laundering predecessor BCCI (and was rewarded with becoming FBI director)

http://www.blacklistednews.com/?news_id=4304

^ Deep State is written all over these guys

I’ve had no problem posting (2) other, unrelated, comments at the same. So, I’d thought I would post the comment here.

A bit more I’ll add here is, HSBC and BCCI have been terrorism money laundering operations with links to western intelligence agencies, inclusive of MOSSAD and CIA in relation to arms trafficking, narcotics trafficking and funding insurgencies. Are the people shielding these activities who you would want to see heading up the FBI? Not really. But that’s what we’ve got. And it’s what we’ve had for quite a long time. Here’s a screenshot of Comey’s HSBC position:

Dear Members of the German Parliament

I wish to draw attention to recent information regarding your NATO ally Turkey. Last month it had been revealed by two courageous members of Turkey’s parliament that in fact it was Turkey’s federal intelligence services were behind the August 2013 Sarin gas attack, killing more than one thousand ordinary Syrians, an attack NATO nations had blamed on the regime of Basher al-Assad. Your own Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND) should have been aware of this fact from very nearly the beginning, as they have been proactively engaged in Syria and the Syrian conflict, as well as spying on Turkey.

What’s more is, state actor Turkey initiating the Sarin attack is not some undocumented allegation. As you can see from the attached reporting, there was a proper investigation by Turkish authorities with developed evidence and indictments. I regret to inform you in this case, President Erdogan personally initiated the prosecution that last week saw the editor of the newspaper reporting put in jail.

This raises strong questions of possible BND criminal complicity considering Germany’s support for certain NATO nations directly in relation to the Syrian conflict. What did the BND know and when? Has the BND, when passing intelligence on Syria to Assad’s opposition through its NATO allies, supported the actors who gassed the Syrians? Is Germany’s supportive relationship to the Erdogan government a lawful one, in light of this evidence? Has the BND contributed to the geopolitical disinformation blaming Assad for the August 2013 Sarin attack? Has your parliament been deceived in this matter, particularly your intelligence oversight committee?

Clearly the Sarin case, considering Germany, as a knowledgeable or complicit actor in Syria, should be pursued against the Turkey via the legal mechanism of Völkerstrafgesetzbuch, as well as domestic prosecutions of those German officials, noting the BND particularly, who’ve failed in their reporting requirements and/or conspired to conceal a war crime or crime against humanity.

These should be questions and demand you will present to the federal prosecutor.

Ron West

Two deputies from the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) have claimed that the government is against investigating Turkey’s role in sending toxic sarin gas which was used in an attack on civilians in Syria in 2013 and in which over 1,300 Syrians were killed.

CHP deputies Eren Erdem and Ali Şeker held a press conference in İstanbul on Wednesday in which they claimed the investigation into allegations regarding Turkey’s involvement in the procurement of sarin gas which was used in the chemical attack on a civil population and delivered to the terrorist Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) to enable the attack was derailed.

Taking the floor first, Erdem stated that the Adana Chief Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation into allegations that sarin was sent to Syria from Turkey via several businessmen. An indictment followed regarding the accusations targeting the government.

“The MKE [Turkish Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation] is also an actor that is mentioned in the investigation file. Here is the indictment. All the details about how sarin was procured in Turkey and delivered to the terrorists, along with audio recordings, are inside the file,” Erdem said while waving the file.

Erdem also noted that the prosecutor’s office conducted detailed technical surveillance and found that an al-Qaeda militant, Hayyam Kasap, acquired sarin, adding: “Wiretapped phone conversations reveal the process of procuring the gas at specific addresses as well as the process of procuring the rockets that would fire the capsules containing the toxic gas. However, despite such solid evidence there has been no arrest in the case. Thirteen individuals were arrested during the first stage of the investigation but were later released, refuting government claims that it is fighting terrorism,” Erdem noted.

Over 1,300 people were killed in the sarin gas attack in Ghouta and several other neighborhoods near the Syrian capital of Damascus, with the West quickly blaming the regime of Bashar al-Assad and Russia claiming it was a “false flag” operation aimed at making US military intervention in Syria possible.

Suburbs near Damascus were struck by rockets containing the toxic sarin gas in August 2013.

The purpose of the attack was allegedly to provoke a US military operation in Syria which would topple the Assad regime in line with the political agenda of then-Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his government.

CHP deputy Şeker spoke after Erdem, pointing out that the government misled the public on the issue by asserting that sarin was provided by Russia. The purpose was to create the perception that, according to Şeker, “Assad killed his people with sarin and that requires a US military intervention in Syria.”

He also underlined that all of the files and evidence from the investigation show a war crime was committed within the borders of the Turkish Republic.

“The investigation clearly indicates that those people who smuggled the chemicals required to procure sarin faced no difficulties, proving that Turkish intelligence was aware of their activities. While these people had to be in prison for their illegal acts, not a single person is in jail. Former prime ministers and the interior minister should be held accountable for their negligence in the incident,” Şeker further commented.

Erdem also added that he will launch a criminal complaint against those responsible, including those who issued a verdict of non-prosecution in the case, those who did not prevent the transfer of chemicals and those who first ordered the arrest of the suspects who were later released.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced in late August that an inquiry had been launched into the gas attacks allegedly perpetuated by both Assad’s Syrian regime and rebel groups fighting in Syria since the civil war erupted in 2011.

However, Erdem is not the only figure who has accused Turkey of possible involvement in the gas attack. Pulitzer Prize winner and journalist, Seymour M. Hersh, argued in an article published in 2014 that MİT was involved with extremist Syrian groups fighting against the Assad regime.

In his article, Hersh said Assad was not behind the attack, as claimed by the US and Europe, but that Turkish-Syrian opposition collaboration was trying to provoke a US intervention in Syria in order to bring down the Assad regime.

Turkey Provides Military Equipment to ISIS

 • An ISIS commander told The Washington Post on August 12, 2014: “Most of the fighters who joined us in the beginning of the war came via Turkey, and so did our equipment and supplies.”
 • Kemal Kiliadaroglu, head of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), produced a statement from the Adana Office of the Prosecutor on October 14, 2014 maintaining that Turkey supplied weapons to terror groups. He also produced interview transcripts from truck drivers who delivered weapons to the groups. According to Kiliadaroglu, the Turkish government claims the trucks were for humanitarian aid to the Turkmen, but the Turkmen said no humanitarian aid was delivered.
 • According to CHP Vice President Bulent Tezcan, three trucks were stopped in Adana for inspection on January 19, 2014. The trucks were loaded with weapons in Esenboga Airport in Ankara. The drivers drove the trucks to the border, where a MIT agent was supposed to take over and drive the trucks to Syria to deliver materials to ISIS and groups in Syria. This happened many times. When the trucks were stopped, MIT agents tried to keep the inspectors from looking inside the crates. The inspectors found rockets, arms, and ammunitions.
 • Cumhuriyet reports that Fuat Avni, a preeminent Twitter user who reported on the December 17th corruption probe, that audio tapes confirm that Turkey provided financial and military aid to terrorist groups associated with Al Qaeda on October 12, 2014. On the tapes, Erdogan pressured the Turkish Armed Forces to go to war with Syria. Erdogan demanded that Hakan Fidan, the head of Turkey’s National Intelligence Agency (MIT), come up with a justification for attacking Syria.
 • Hakan Fidan told Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Yasar Guler, a senior defense official, and Feridun Sinirlioglu, a senior foreign affairs official: “If need be, I’ll send 4 men into Syria. I’ll formulate a reason to go to war by shooting 8 rockets into Turkey; I’ll have them attack the Tomb of Suleiman Shah.”
 • Documents surfaced on September 19th, 2014 showing that the Saudi Emir Bender Bin Sultan financed the transportation of arms to ISIS through Turkey. A flight leaving Germany dropped off arms in the Etimesgut airport in Turkey, which was then split into three containers, two of which were given to ISIS and one to Gaza.

Turkey Provided Transport and Logistical Assistance to ISIS Fighters

 • According to Radikal on June 13, 2014, Interior Minister Muammar Guler signed a directive: “According to our regional gains, we will help al-Nusra militants against the branch of PKK terrorist organization, the PYD, within our borders…Hatay is a strategic location for the mujahideen crossing from within our borders to Syria. Logistical support for Islamist groups will be increased, and their training, hospital care, and safe passage will mostly take place in Hatay…MIT and the Religious Affairs Directorate will coordinate the placement of fighters in public accommodations.”
 • The Daily Mail reported on August 25, 2014 that many foreign militants joined ISIS in Syria and Iraq after traveling through Turkey, but Turkey did not try to stop them. This article describes how foreign militants, especially from the UK, go to Syria and Iraq through the Turkish border. They call the border the “Gateway to Jihad.” Turkish army soldiers either turn a blind eye and let them pass, or the jihadists pay the border guards as little as $10 to facilitate their crossing.
 • Britain’s Sky News obtained documents showing that the Turkish government has stamped passports of foreign militants seeking to cross the Turkey border into Syria to join ISIS.
 • The BBC interviewed villagers, who claim that buses travel at night, carrying jihadists to fight Kurdish forces in Syria and Iraq, not the Syrian Armed Forces.
 • A senior Egyptian official indicated on October 9, 2014 that Turkish intelligence is passing satellite imagery and other data to ISIS.

Turkey Provided Training to ISIS Fighters

 • CNN Turk reported on July 29, 2014 that in the heart of Istanbul, places like Duzce and Adapazari, have become gathering spots for terrorists. There are religious orders where ISIS militants are trained. Some of these training videos are posted on the Turkish ISIS propaganda website takvahaber.net. According to CNN Turk, Turkish security forces could have stopped these developments if they had wanted to.
 • Turks who joined an affiliate of ISIS were recorded at a public gathering in Istanbul, which took place on July 28, 2014.
 • A video shows an ISIS affiliate holding a prayer/gathering in Omerli, a district of Istanbul. In response to the video, CHP Vice President, MP Tanrikulu submitted parliamentary questions to the Minister of the Interior, Efkan Ala, asking questions such as, “Is it true that a camp or camps have been allocated to an affiliate of ISIS in Istanbul? What is this affiliate? Who is it made up of? Is the rumor true that the same area allocated for the camp is also used for military exercises?”
 • Kemal Kiliçdaroglu warned the AKP government not to provide money and training to terror groups on October 14, 2014. He said, “It isn’t right for armed groups to be trained on Turkish soil. You bring foreign fighters to Turkey, put money in their pockets, guns in their hands, and you ask them to kill Muslims in Syria. We told them to stop helping ISIS. Ahmet Davutoglu asked us to show proof. Everyone knows that they’re helping ISIS.” (See HERE and HERE.)
 • According to Jordanian intelligence, Turkey trained ISIS militants for special operations.

Turkey Offers Medical Care to ISIS Fighters

 • An ISIS commander told the Washington Post on August 12, 2014, “We used to have some fighters — even high-level members of the Islamic State — getting treated in Turkish hospitals.”
 • Taraf reported on October 12, 2014 that Dengir Mir Mehmet Firat, a founder of the AKP, said that Turkey supported terrorist groups and still supports them and treats them in hospitals. “In order to weaken the developments in Rojova (Syrian Kurdistan), the government gave concessions and arms to extreme religious groups…the government was helping the wounded. The Minister of Health said something such as, it’s a human obligation to care for the ISIS wounded.”
 • According to Taraf, Ahmet El H, one of the top commanders at ISIS and Al Baghdadi’s right hand man, was treated at a hospital in Sanliurfa, Turkey, along with other ISIS militants. The Turkish state paid for their treatment. According to Taraf’s sources, ISIS militants are being treated in hospitals all across southeastern Turkey. More and more militants have been coming in to be treated since the start of airstrikes in August. To be more specific, eight ISIS militants were transported through the Sanliurfa border crossing; these are their names: “Mustafa A., Yusuf El R., Mustafa H., Halil El M., Muhammet El H., Ahmet El S., Hasan H., [and] Salim El D.”

Turkey Supports ISIS Financially Through Purchase of Oil

 • On September 13, 2014, The New York Times reported on the Obama administration’s efforts to pressure Turkey to crack down on ISIS extensive sales network for oil. James Phillips, a senior fellow at the Heritage Foundation, argues that Turkey has not fully cracked down on ISIS’s sales network because it benefits from a lower price for oil, and that there might even be Turks and government officials who benefit from the trade.
 • Fehim Tastekin wrote in Radikal on September 13, 2014 about illegal pipelines transporting oil from Syria to nearby border towns in Turkey. The oil is sold for as little as 1.25 liras per liter. Tastekin indicated that many of these illegal pipelines were dismantled after operating for 3 years, once his article was published.
 • According to Diken and OdaTV, David Cohen, a Justice Department official, says that there are Turkish individuals acting as middlemen to help sell ISIS’s oil through Turkey.
 • On October 14, 2014, a German Parliamentarian from the Green Party accused Turkey of allowing the transportation of arms to ISIS over its territory, as well as the sale of oil.

Turkey Assists ISIS Recruitment

 • Kemal Kiliadaroglu claimed on October 14, 2014 that ISIS offices in Istanbul and Gaziantep are used to recruit fighters. On October 10, 2014, the mufti of Konya said that 100 people from Konya joined ISIS 4 days ago. (See HERE and HERE.)
 • OdaTV reports that Takva Haber serves as a propaganda outlet for ISIS to recruit Turkish-speaking individuals in Turkey and Germany. The address where this propaganda website is registered corresponds to the address of a school called Irfan Koleji, which was established by Ilim Yayma Vakfi, a foundation that was created by Erdogan and Davutoglu, among others. It is thus claimed that the propaganda site is operated from the school of the foundation started by AKP members.
 • Minister of Sports, Suat Kilic, an AKP member, visited Salafi jihadists who are ISIS supporters in Germany. The group is known for reaching out to supporters via free Quran distributions and raising funds to sponsor suicide attacks in Syria and Iraq by raising money.
 • OdaTV released a video allegedly showing ISIS militants riding a bus in Istanbul.

Turkish Forces Are Fighting Alongside ISIS

 • On October 7, 2014, IBDA-C, a militant Islamic organization in Turkey, pledged support to ISIS. A Turkish friend who is a commander in ISIS suggests that Turkey is “involved in all of this” and that “10,000 ISIS members will come to Turkey.” A Huda-Par member at the meeting claims that officials criticize ISIS but in fact sympathize with the group (Huda-Par, the “Free Cause Party”, is a Kurdish Sunni fundamentalist political party). BBP member claims that National Action Party (MHP) officials are close to embracing ISIS. In the meeting, it is asserted that ISIS militants come to Turkey frequently to rest, as though they are taking a break from military service. They claim that Turkey will experience an Islamic revolution, and Turks should be ready for jihad. (See HERE and HERE.)
 • Seymour Hersh maintains in the London Review of Books that ISIS conducted sarin attacks in Syria, and that Turkey was informed. “For months there had been acute concern among senior military leaders and the intelligence community about the role in the war of Syria’s neighbors, especially Turkey. Prime Minister Recep Erdogan was known to be supporting the al-Nusra Front, a jihadist faction among the rebel opposition, as well as other Islamist rebel groups. ‘We knew there were some in the Turkish government,’ a former senior US intelligence official, who has access to current intelligence, told me, ‘who believed they could get Assad’s nuts in a vice by dabbling with a sarin attack inside Syria – and forcing Obama to make good on his red line threat.”
 • On September 20, 2014, Demir Celik, a Member of Parliament with the people’s democratic party (HDP) claimed that Turkish Special Forces fight with ISIS.

Turkey Helped ISIS in Battle for Kobani

 • Anwar Moslem, Mayor of Kobani, said on September 19, 2014: “Based on the intelligence we got two days before the breakout of the current war, trains full of forces and ammunition, which were passing by north of Kobane, had an-hour-and-ten-to-twenty-minute-long stops in these villages: Salib Qaran, Gire Sor, Moshrefat Ezzo. There are evidences, witnesses, and videos about this. Why is ISIS strong only in Kobane’s east? Why is it not strong either in its south or west? Since these trains stopped in villages located in the east of Kobane, we guess they had brought ammunition and additional force for the ISIS.” In the second article on September 30, 2014, a CHP delegation visited Kobani, where locals claimed that everything from the clothes ISIS militants wear to their guns comes from Turkey. (See HERE and HERE.)
 • Released by Nuhaber, a video shows Turkish military convoys carrying tanks and ammunition moving freely under ISIS flags in the Cerablus region and Karkamis border crossing (September 25, 2014). There are writings in Turkish on the trucks.
 • Salih Muslim, PYD head, claims that 120 militants crossed into Syria from Turkey between October 20th and 24th, 2014.
 • According to an op-ed written by a YPG commander in The New York Times on October 29, 2014, Turkey allows ISIS militants and their equipment to pass freely over the border.
 • Diken reported, “ISIS fighters crossed the border from Turkey into Syria, over the Turkish train tracks that delineate the border, in full view of Turkish soldiers. They were met there by PYD fighters and stopped.”
 • A Kurdish commander in Kobani claims that ISIS militants have Turkish entry stamps on their passports.
 • Kurds trying to join the battle in Kobani are turned away by Turkish police at the Turkey-Syrian border.
 • OdaTV released a photograph of a Turkish soldier befriending ISIS militants.

Erdogan

Cold-blooded killer of too many Syrians and Iraqis to count

NATO’s UPGRADED GLADIO is the subject of this article, where the western democracies enemy Islamic State is Turkey’s favorite fuck-buddy. Call it a play on the Middle East expression ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Only here it is ‘my enemy is my friend’s favorite fuck.’

This week, a result of a lawsuit filed personally by the president of Turkey (Edogan, image on left), two courageous journalists were arrested and charged with treason, terrorism and revealing state secrets. What had they done? Revealed Turkish intelligence had been caught by some over-zealous local gendarmes when running guns and ammunition to hard-line Islamist militia with close ties to al-Qaida:

Zaman.jpg - 1

^ Story killed by Erdogan’s police takeover of Today’s Zaman newpaper, click on image to read about the paper’s shutting down

Now, if that were not enough concerning NATO member Turkey’s efforts in ‘the war on terror’, we can back up a mere five weeks and understand Erdogan’s paranoia of free press; it was in October, 2015, two members of Turkey’s parliament revealed it was Erdogan’s intelligence services had arranged the 2013 Sarin gas attack that had killed over 1,300 Syrians:

Zaman2.jpg - 1

^ click on image to read preserved story

Of course this had been blamed on Basher al-Assad by Hussein Obama:

“The evidence is overwhelming that the Assad regime used such weapons on August 21st. U.N. inspectors gave a clear accounting that advanced rockets fired large quantities of sarin gas at civilians. These rockets were fired from a regime-controlled neighborhood and landed in opposition neighborhoods” -Barack Obama

I guess we could call that one ‘my friend fucks my enemy for me.’

And, of course, this past week has been all about satellite images and Russian warplane video of Islamic State tankers exporting oil via… you might have guessed it, Turkey. Well, I guess the warplane images indicate ISIS ‘suddenly not shipping quite as much oil.’ The USA hadn’t even noticed these targets prior to the Russians hitting them, I suppose our religious right generals at the Pentagon would call that ‘sexual abstinence’

Screen Shot 2015-11-28 at 5.47.28 PM

But this next guy would seem to think he’s been fucked in the ass over oil by Russia and that must be why Turkey ambushed a Russian bomber, his name is Hakan Fidan and he’s Erdogans’s intelligence chief:

Hakan Fidan rap sheet: Murdered more that 1,300 Syrians with sarin gas, blamed it on Assad; runs guns and ammunition to Islamic State; imports Islamic State oil to Turkey from Syria and Iraq; accessory to the murder of too many Syrians and Iraqis to count; a close Erdogan confidant

Now, let’s consider what Vladimir Putin had to say in relation to Turkey and by implication its intelligence services chief Hakan Fidan:

“We assume that the top political leadership of Turkey might not know anything about this [illegal oil trade]. Hard to believe, but it is theoretically possible. But if the top political leadership [in Turkey] doesn’t know anything about this, let them find out. I can state that there may be some elements of corruption, secret dealing, they should sort it out” -Vladimir Putin

I doubt Putin was in a good humor when he stated the preceding but his use of irony under the circumstance indicates he’s not in any mood to be fucked with; and furthermore indicates Turkey is going to be fucked but good.

Now, more or less ‘sticking’ with oil, lets look at some sound assumptions; our several intelligence agencies answer to the executive in the western democratic model. It follows, they report to the those same democracies bosses. So, what has Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND or German CIA) boss Gerhard Schindler been telling Angela Merkel? That Assad gassed his own people? Sorry but the BND reputation for intelligence in the region doesn’t allow for pigs growing wings:

Revelations over spying activities by the German foreign intelligence office Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND) are undermining relations between Germany and Turkey at an already difficult time. According to a document acquired by Der Spiegel, the BND has been systematically wiretapping its NATO ally Turkey since at least 2009…

It’s safe to assume Angela Merkel knows whose fucking who when it comes to Turkey gassing Syrians:

The report quotes a US intelligence agent as saying: “No Western intelligence service has as good sources in Syria as the BND does.”

A member of the BND told the newspaper that the intelligence service was “proud of the important contribution [it] is making to the overthrow of the Assad regime.”

gerhard.schindler

Gerhard Schindler, boss of German intelligence; accessory to the murder of too many Syrians and Iraqis to count

Now, when it comes to Islamic State doing a billion dollar oil business with Turkey, do you suppose the Germans, Angela Merkel particularly, could claim she ‘didn’t know’? After all, according to a United States Defense Intelligence Agency report, the whole idea of “the western powers” fostering the rise of Islamic State was to bugger Assad. Who’re “the western powers” other than Germany? France and its multinational Total Oil Company make a fine next step into the bordello where your enemy is your friend’s favorite fuck:

Bernard Bajolet, boss of Direction générale de la sécurité extérieure (French CIA), accessory to murder of 130 Parisians and accessory to the murder of too many Syrians and Iraqis to count

The French company has ignored threats from the central Iraqi government in Baghdad and signed oil deals directly with the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region, where crude reserves are plentiful and contract terms more attractive than in the south.

“This success confirms Total’s exploration strategy in Iraq,” said Marc Blaizot, senior vice president for exploration at Total

Now, what will French intelligence chief Bernard Bajolet have told France’s President Hollande about Kurdistan having to do with ‘my enemy is my friend’s favorite fuck?’

Well, according to oilprice.com, ‘Kurdistan’ is a deliberately planned for, broken away piece of Iraq where:

“It is important to understand that Northern Iraq is a major market for Turkish exports and that oil and gas from coming Iraqi Kurdish territory is moved on to worldwide markets through Turkey,” Jellyfish President Michael Bagley told Oilprice.com.

“From a financial and logistical standpoint, an Ankara-Erbil marriage is one of exceptional convenience. From our standpoint, Northern Iraq stands to be one of the next great investment areas in the Middle East, and so far, the KRG [kurdish regional government] has managed to out-play Baghdad in the natural resources and investment game”

AND THIS

Exxon-al_Qaida_deal.jpg - 1

Ninewa today is one of the last bastions of al-Qaeda in Iraq, and its blessing of the KRG-ExxonMobil deal is significant in terms of security

Did oilprice.com just say “al-Qaida in Iraq” gave a ‘security’ blessing to a Kurdish Regional Government deal with an oil company? I believe they did. Who is ‘al-Qaida in Iraq’ these days? Why it’s been recently re-branded as Islamic State. Huh. We could call this one ‘my friends who fuck my enemies who’re my friends.’ Or something like that.

alex-younger_MI6

Alex Younger, head of MI6 (British CIA), accessory to the murder of too many Syrians and Iraqis to count

So, how does that all fit into Turkey is a one billion dollar partner in Islamic State oil exports and no one says anything? Let’s ask the Brits:

The attorney general was consulted about Monday’s decision. Karmy-Jones told the court in pre-trial hearings that Gildo had worked with Jabhat al-Nusra, a “proscribed group considered to be al-Qaida in Syria”. He was photographed standing over dead bodies with his finger pointing to the sky

Well, it seems British intelligence had to ask the British courts not to prosecute because MI6 had been funneling arms to the very Syria al-Qaida branch the returning jihadi had fought with. We could call this one ‘I won’t let you fuck my terrorist friend because he helps me to fuck people I like to see fucked.’ Considering this, I kind of doubt we’d get a straight answer concerning British Petroleum activities in Turkey, you think?

Our downstream business in Turkey dates back to the 1940s and now includes retail fuels, lubricants and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). We have over 600 dealer-owned and operated fuel stations throughout the country, as well as fuels and LPG terminals and storage facilities. ATAS, the former refinery and currently the largest fuels terminal in the Eastern Mediterranean, is 68% owned by BP. One of our most modern and high-tech lubricants plants is located in Gemlik

But David Cameron most certainly has a report on his desk pointing to BP had exported Kurdish oil via Turkey. Is British spy chief Alex Younger updating him on any BP related Islamic State exports? That’s his job. Or maybe BP is informing Cameron direct, it’s not like his government keeps the multinational at arms length:

The Foreign Office, for example, held its annual “BP high level dinner” last July, “to strengthen the strategic relationship between BP and the FCO on global economic and energy issues”, according to heavily redacted documents marked “sensitive” and “restricted”. All the top FCO directors from the head of the diplomatic service down through the directors of the main regions, to the heads of the FCO economic, strategy, and “prosperity” units, were on the attendees list

I’ll bet Cameron accused Assad of gassing his own people too:

Cameron said he took “full and personal responsibility for the decision to recall parliament, for the decision to take a strong and principled stand against the gassing of children in Syria, and I take full responsibility for putting forward as generous a motion I could, to bring as many people with me as I could. Everyone who voted has to live with the way that they voted”

He actually meant to say ‘it’s easy to fuck ordinary Syrians [who Erdogan’s intelligence people gassed] when people suck up to my ‘Assad did it’ media lies’ (at The Guardian, no less.)

AND FINALLY

Airstrike_Leaflet

The ‘special relationship.’ How is it the Pentagon gives the [only just very recently noticed] Islamic State oil-tanker truck drivers 45 minutes warning before blowing up [a few, token] trucks delivering oil to Turkey?

john-brennan

CIA boss John Brennan; accessory to the murder of too many Syrians and Iraqis to count; close Obama confidant

Do you suppose the CIA’s John Brennan is actually concerned about civilian casualties? That doesn’t seem to concern his boss, ‘Commander-in-Chief’ Obama, in the case of drones.

ObamaPick

Serial killer of nations; cold-blooded killer of too many Syrians and Iraqis to count

I do believe the actual reason is linked to the screenshot of the article on delivery of arms to hard-line Islamists at the beginning of this essay; where in this related story…

Testimony from gendarmerie officers in court documents reviewed by Reuters allege that rocket parts, ammunition and semi-finished mortar shells were carried in trucks accompanied by state intelligence agency (MIT) officials more than a year ago to parts of Syria under Islamist control

…it is intelligence assets are the drivers of the trucks loaded with weapons delivered into Syria. One loaded Islamic State tanker truck driven out of Syria almost certainly out-values, by far, any truckload of weapons driven in. It follows, you don’t bomb your allied fuck-buddies’ fuckers who do the driving. Call it a matter of being discreet: ‘we don’t butt-fuck our fuck-buddies’ fuckers outside of the barracks.’

Meanwhile (this update comes precisely one day since I’d penned the preceding), Erdogan’s government henchmen have arrested and charged the police officials who’d initiated the investigation into illegal weapons transfers to jihadists in Syria:

Maj. Gen. Aydın and retired Col. Cihangiroğlu were arrested on charges of “obtaining confidential information for purposes of political or military espionage; disclosing confidential information pertaining to state security for espionage purposes; attempting to destroy or prevent the government of the Republic of Turkey from functioning; founding or leading an armed terrorist organization.”

Brig. Gen. Celepoğlu was arrested on charges of “attempting to destroy or prevent the government of the Republic of Turkey from functioning; founding or leading an armed terrorist organization.”

Two journalists from the Cumhuriyet daily, Editor-in-Chief Can Dündar and the Ankara representative Erdem Gül were arrested last week on similar charges after publishing footage that showed the arms [trucks] were carrying guns, contrary to earlier government claims that they were transporting humanitarian aid:

^ Erdogan’s ‘humanitarian aid

At the end of the day, if you’re a honest cop doing your job but cross Pasha Erdogan’s dirty dealings with ISIS and al-Qaida, the consequence is simple: “You’re fucked”

16 December 2015 update: A Turkish member of parliament who spoke to Russia’s RT News about the export of sarin gas from Turkey to Syria has been charged with treason:

https://www.rt.com/news/326084-erdem-rt-interview-treason/

Note on the original post: In March 2016 Erdogan had ‘Today’s Zaman’ newspaper shut down, killing the links to the related stories. However anticipating this, I saved screenshots and text of the Zaman article on Turkey supplying the sarin gas used at Ghouta, Syria in August 2013. That information is preserved HERE.

Meanwhile over at Jihad Watch:

I left this as a comment at Phill Giraldi’s Unz Review column. Time to time my comments are inspiration for my blog but this is the first one I’m bringing over here verbatim:

When the middle east was ‘decolonized’ (in name only) there were artificial boundaries left behind resembling those of the American Indian reservations where tribes with a long history of mutual animosity were forced into cohabitation. Secular strongmen kept a lid on the religious animosity between Shia and Sunni (the main and most problematic rivalry) in a region with an otherwise naturally decentralized body politic represented in various tribes and clans with local tradition of authority. There is no nation state tradition per se in the sense we know in ‘the west.’

The folly of attempting to impose western style (liberal) democracy on what amount to artificial entities to begin with (‘states’ comprised of arbitrary, colonial era drawn borders, incorporating peoples with longstanding differences and simmering animosities) is certain to see profound consequence. As much as it might be an undesirable short term and self-centered interest of less than noble parties to break these artificial entities up, the reality is any previous delicate balance has been so deeply compromised and poisoned, and the historic animosity between the areas indigenous rivals so stirred, there is no going back to the old status quo. ‘All the king’s horses and all the king’s men won’t put this humpty back together again.’

In the short term, America’s neo-cons (and neo-liberals) have, in a sense, won. But what? No one can predict where, when or what is going to come of this incredibly stupid gambit where the attempted overthrow of Assad was so great a fascination of converging, short-sighted interests, to go so far as to knowingly allow, nay, actually make that fostering, the rise of Islamic State.

Sunni Iraq is de facto broken off from Shia Iraq, Sunni Syria is effectively broken off from Alawite and Christian Syria and the Kurds, the largest stateless ethnic group in the world, is a wild card determined to have what they should have been allowed in the beginning, their own nation-state. Most Kurds are in Turkey with sizable populations in Iraq, Iran and Syria. Kurd national aspirations trump their largely Sunni religious affiliation. Erdogan, reflecting a long time Turkish chauvinism in relation to other ethnic groups, has destroyed what little rapprochement had been accomplished with not only Turkey’s own Kurdish population, but has alienated the Kurds of Syria and Iraq.

Phil [Giraldi’s] ‘destroying ISIS but how?’ has to take the long view where all of these complications are in play. Turkey, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Qatar all might give lip service to reasonable solution but the only solution they actually desire is Assad’s ouster and a compliant puppet to replace him. Meanwhile, the western powers have so much ego invested, they can hardly stand to turn a new page if they can’t write the script, although the ‘chickens come home to roost’ in Paris might have slapped some sense into Hollande, but we won’t know this for certain right away.

That sole, overarching fact is, international law and the United Nations, based in western traditions, are no match for the forces released with the meddling in this region by the no less than incredible stupidity of the western powers leadership. When the dust settles, let’s just hope it’s not radioactive –

Today’s media, FOX being the poster child, is exploiting the ignorant and narcissistic hate endemic to the uneducated White lower class in the USA, while parroting the official line. There is a deep and abiding fear underlies this hate, a social-cultural phenomenon rooted in a history of class exploiting race, whether the racism of ‘manifest destiny’ in relation to considering Native Americans sub-human to justify theft and murder; or the ‘White trash’ whose racism had been historically fed and exploited by the ‘southern aristocracy’ for political and pecuniary purpose.

Social phenomena being what it is, it follows there is the inter-generational aspect where the ignorance is sustained within family and community. ‘Mean people make little mean people.’ This ignorance is, in turn, exploited by the politics of fear mongering in the present.

Whether it is the fairly straightforward lies of the Rupert Murdochs (FOX News) in our world or the more insidious Hasbara of Israel, example given, posing as White, racist, anti-Semites in the article comments at Unz Review to smear authors like Phillip Giraldi with a false flag generating guilt by association, it is old tactic in play.

Now, Arabs (and Brown anybodies) are the new Native American to be feared as ‘savages’ in the 21st century edition of empire (manifest destiny) and, of course, there is underhanded play aplenty to radicalize just enough of the new ‘savages’ to insure a few will behave shockingly enough for media sensation. Meanwhile ’empire media’ will present ‘White Europe’ as the model of civilization under attack by barbarians, never mind we prop up the likes of ®Saudi Barbaria™.

Saudi Arabia, whom the USA has just sold another billion dollars plus in arms, exports Wahabi Islam that crucifies, beheads and delivers lashes in increments of 50 over years of torture as the victim is allowed to heal between the last fifty and next fifty to the number of 1,000. This cruelty is reflected in the close Saudi connections to, and support for, al-Qaida and Islamic State and with the Saudis financing mosques across Europe, what would one expect? That Brussels, example given, would become Europe’s ‘jihadi’ hotbed? The result is bringing discredit on ordinary, law abiding people of Muslim heritage everywhere, secular and religious.

This matrix of evil is all interconnected in the USA’s so-called ‘vital national interests’ where intelligence agencies, backed by corporate co-opted media, geo-engineer entire societies, whether via ‘color revolutions’, coups d’état or in the present ‘Arab Spring’ attempted overthrow of Syria’s Assad.

This immediate preceding case is where the so-called ‘Arab Spring’ had been prostituted in a case of converging interests; Saudi Arabia and Qatar looking to overthrow Assad to essentially to poke Iran in the eye with a sharp stick. Turkey to quash its paranoia of the Kurds exercising of any right of self determination exterior to its borders. Israel supporting al-Nusra to remove a thorn its side constituting the Golan Heights where they will be looking for a surrender of sovereignty in a weakened and compliant Syria broken off from Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon. The USA appeasing Israel, and as well, appeasing ally (oil supplier) Saudi Arabia at odds with Iran also plays into the equation, as well USA, France, Germany and Britain play if only because they’re addicted to the profits from weapons sales propping up corporate neo-colonialism.

The result has been establishing (by the CIA in concert with Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Israel and to some extent the British, German and French intelligence agencies) the so-called ‘Free Syrian Army’ which has served as little more than a front to train and arm Salafist (extreme Wahabi) militia represented in al-Qaida and the emergence of Daesh (Islamic State, IS, ISIL, ISIS) as a device to overthrow the secular regime of Syria, noting any ‘real’ moderates are fighting on the side of the secular regime.

The result has been several fold; the flood of refugees out of Syria, the Paris massacre, the accelerated rise of a police state in the so-called ‘free world’ and not least, the overall increase of the value of stocks in the so-called ‘security industry’ (includes the profit margin increases of armaments producers across the board.)

All of this can be accomplished in the case of manipulating press to insure an ill educated and misinformed populace is thoroughly fear mongered; terrorists here, terrorists there, terrorists everywhere:

They see you when you’re sleeping (CNN)
They know when you’re awake (Al Jazeera)
They know when you’re out to dine (Le Monde)
So stay home for safety’s sake! (Der Speigel)
So you better watch out (The Daily Mail)
You’d better not fly (Canadian Broadcasting Corp)
Al-Baghdadi is coming to town (The Jerusalem Post)

Now, if any of you have any doubts as to the preceding, take a look (again) at what I’ve been hammering on at this site; we have a bonafide, (no doubt mistakenly or incredibly courageously) declassified intelligence report from the Defense Intelligence Agency that says in no uncertain terms the rise of Islamic State, as stated by the boss of the Defense Intelligence Agency when that very report was written, and speaking to that very same report, was “willful” and “a policy decision”

Now, ask yourselves, who is to blame for the attacks in Paris? I’ll name the names at the top: USA’s Obama, Turkey’s Erdogan, the House of Saud, the rulers of Qatar, France’s Hollande (and Sarkozy prior to Hollande), Britain’s Cameron, Germany’s Merkel and Israel’s Netanyahu.

Now, ask yourselves the more difficult questions; what western democratic constitution allows for intelligence agencies to engineer the rise of terrorist organizations for sake of geo-political manipulations? The plain answer is none. If Iran is the world’s premier sponsor of state terror as alleged by the USA Department of State, what are the so-called western democracies by comparison? It wasn’t Iran butchered the Parisians, it wasn’t Hezbollah and it wasn’t Assad either. The massacre in Paris is the direct result of the USA, in concert with Britain, France, Germany, Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Israel deliberately creating and feeding the conditions that saw the rise of Daesh (Islamic State, IS, ISIL, ISIS.) A secondary, but no less malignant result, will be the rise of the far right and nationalism in Europe, breeding fear, loathing and Islamophobia with growing radicalism on all parties part.

It should come as no surprise that those nations arming a dark ages regime such as Saudi Arabia would be criminal regimes in their own right, particularly noting in addition to the USA, France, Britain and Germany. Meanwhile, the criminal leadership of the western democracies has been cutting their own people’s throats. In every nation named, the actions of their respective intelligence agencies is directed from the executive level.

This is the real intelligence on our leaders and it’s not rocket science:

“We’ve seen an outrageous attempt to terrorize innocent civilians, this is an attack not just on Paris, it is an attack not just on the people of France, but it is an attack on all of humanity and the universal values we share” -Barack Obama

Better had Obama truthfully stated ‘our clandestine agencies employing state terror to overthrow Assad has backfired’

*

Speaking directly to the above intelligence report, the western powers enabling the rise of Islamic State, according to the former boss of the Defense Intelligence Agency, General Mike Flynn, “was willful” & “a policy decision

Why didn’t Obama, Hollande and company consider their clandestinely promoting the rise of Islamic State as a device to overthrow Assad was “an outrageous attempt to terrorize innocent civilians [and] an attack on all of humanity and the universal values we share” ??

VICE & The CIA

The CIA’s world of smoke and mirrors is coming home to roost at VICE News. In a 28 minute ‘investigative journalism’ film dripping lies and denial off the lips of ‘former’ (once CIA, always CIA) counter-terrorism officer Sabrina De Sousa…

…yours truly stumbled across some rather remarkable coincidences.

The 1st coincidence is, this convicted (for kidnapping) CIA Officer who denies any role in the actual Abu Omar (Italy) rendition, is the very same woman indelibly marked in my memory as a total stranger who smirked at me when our paths crossed when I was intensively hunted in Wiesbaden, Germany, in Summer 2008. Here is my (February 2014) short description of one of the several events I experienced that summer, provided to European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights:

One person etched into my memory, although I did not know who she was in the Summer of 2008, was then active CIA officer Sabrina De Sousa. She jumped out on account of her smirking at myself when passing on the street. She was clad partially in the casual clothing of South Asia, and gave me a knowing smile and expression that can only be considered remarkable, when encountered in a total stranger. This marked De Sousa in my memory.

Of the several attempts during this period, one attempt clearly resembled the technique employed in the ‘Imam rapito affair’, also known as the Abu Omar case, in which De Sousa was involved. I was returning from teaching class at Mainz, when I noticed an aberration (due to my training) in what otherwise would seem a normal and unremarkable event. A group of men dressed in the typical blue German workingman clothing, taking a break.

The circumstance jumped out at me as I approached for the following reasons; there was no conversation at all, they looked ‘posed’ (stiff, as if unfamiliar with acting), had American body language and what I would call ‘Delta Force’ physiques (the sort of body build you will typically encounter in hyper-physically trained special operations soldiers.) Other than clothing, they did not resemble German laborers at all. My route on the sidewalk would have taken me between what amounted to a close, half-circle of three of these ‘workers’, and the half-circle closed to the street by the open, sliding side door, to a white, windowless van with at least one occupant.

There was a fourth ‘worker’ sitting in the passenger seat (with door open) of a car pulled up closely behind the van, concealing the van’s identity plate from behind. He appeared to be a ‘backstop’ positioned in case I’d evaded or somehow came through the initial three poised to shove myself into the van. Clearly, it was expected I would walk between the half-circle and the van. I approached as if unconcerned, to get as close as possible for visual assessment and at the last moment, instead of continuing on the sidewalk into what certainly was a ‘snatch’ and ‘rendition’ trap (I could have been popped into the van and subdued in a matter of a few seconds, less than five seconds, certainly), I walked out into street and into possible oncoming traffic (and was lucky not to be run down by a car.) Evasion was simple.

The 2nd coincidence is, the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR) filing a criminal complaint against certain USA personalities with the German Federal Prosecutor and offering to produce De Sousa as a voluntary ‘tells all’ witness in the Abu Omar rendition case; in a context presented in the VICE film as on behalf of De Sousa:

De_Sousa_ECCHR.jpg - 1

It was 25 months ago, on 7 October 2013, I’d initially informed the very same organization of my circumstance…

Dear European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights

Great to see you hosting Jeremy Scahill. I invite you to look into a less famous case, closer to home.

My invitation for your organization is, to challenge Germany’s government on allowing JSOC, CIA & MOSSAD to run free in Germany for years engaging in criminal acts, up to and inclusive of both; the attempted rendition and assassination of this correspondent. As well, question why it is ‘responsible’ persons at the Bundestag sit on their hands with tails between legs when they damn well should have been raising their voices. It is my own firm intention there will not be any opportunity to claim ‘we didn’t know’ after the fact, like so many Germans did after the Reich’s defeat.

All the material you need to open a comprehensive investigation is located at my webpage

Most sincerely

Ron West

…and received this 8 October 2013 reply:

Dear Ron West,

thank you very much for your email… we’re .. closely following US-activities on German territory as part of worldwide human rights violations. As you might have seen on our website, we’ve been active against Bush, Rumsfeld and many others in a number of European jurisdiction as well as against the German government regarding CIA-renditions. However, we’re not able to support individual cases, but will certainly have a look at them to include them in our comprehensive strategies. We’ll continue our work on the issue.

Best regards

Subsequent to this I had, clearly without any expectation of personal representation…

Dear [ECCHR person]

A most sincere, absolutely grateful thank you, for your reply, a first from any Human Rights affiliated group in six years of soliciting a correspondence relating to my circumstance.

I do invite a look at my case without expectation of any commitment to individual advocacy on my behalf. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have, give you permission to speak to anyone regarding myself and I waive any right of anonymity in any reference to my alleged circumstance, when referenced in any report you may see fit to include my case in.

My kindest greetings

…had gone on to provide ECCHR strong testimonials to my character & veracity, as well as a chronology of my experiences, to include my encounter with De Sousa and how she fit the overall picture. Now, it comes about the ECCHR’s “not able to support individual cases” was applicable in my case but not in the case of De Sousa, a person the ECCHR had been informed is complicit in attempted kidnap and murder on German soil. So, what gives here? I have some thoughts on that but first the next coincidence:

3rd coincidence. Between my initial contact with ECCHR and the present circumstance of ECCHR attempting the rehabilitation of a convicted kidnapper in the Italian Abu Omar case, Sabrina De Sousa, whom they’d been informed by myself is implicated in nearly identical circumstance in Germany, I had devised a legal strategy (posted online) also provided to ECCHR that appears to have been adopted by the ECCHR in partnership with the British group Reprieve. But they couldn’t have done a better job of messing it up as if that was the real intent. In short, ECCHR (together with Reprieve) sued in German court to hold Germany to account as complicit or enablers of the USA’s illegal drone wars by hosting the USA’s military. They could have made a much stronger political points case with going after the Iraq war crimes with information developed by so many sources so as to be irrefutable, using the German legal principle of Völkerstrafgesetzbuch (universal jurisdiction), for instance pursuing the torture camp/death squads set up under General Petraeus during his first tour of Iraq, information developed by the Guardian:

But instead ECCHR followed a narrow line of focus on drones where proving the German legal liability was nebulous and managed a loss; setting a precedent in German law strengthening their purported adversaries. Now, with this NEGATIVE precedent set, ECCHR has filed a criminal complaint in a larger process of rehabilitating De Sousa irrespective of information in their hands indicating she is complicit in crimes committed on German soil exterior to USA military installations in the case of yours truly, the by far stronger case to bring the USA to account in German courts. Ignoring this, instead it would appear ECCHR is following the losing strategy of the previous case; relying on the idea the plane used in the Abu Omar rendition touched down at the USA’s Ramstein Air Base, placing the jurisdiction once again where the German courts will hesitate to reach.

According to De Sousa in the VICE film, she is willing to ‘tell all’ to the German prosecutors but with a reservation; she refused to share any of this information with the VICE reporter who treats her with kid gloves throughout.

WTF are the possibilities?

 1. De Sousa resigning the CIA is a cover story and she’s actually engaged in an agency operation to shut down certain legal avenues to persons such as myself while in process of feeding disinformation to the German authorities.
 2. The ECCHR is compromised by intelligence agents along the lines of Francis Boyle’s discoveries at Amnesty International where human rights are gamed by the likes of CIA & MI6.
 3. The ECCHR is absolutely incompetent and is being gamed by De Sousa, a loose cannon the CIA is in turn gaming & perfectly content to allow run loose like a maniac and attempt to tell everything (an accomplished liar knows) to German prosecutors because the CIA can shape the course of events to shut down certain legal avenues to CIA advantage.
 4. VICE reporters and producers believe in virgin birth and report the moon is made of green cheese per the quote of former CIA Director William Colby: “the Central Intelligence Agency owns everyone of any significance in major media
 5. Some ‘the fix is in’ combination of the preceding possibilities.
 6. All of this is just a fantastic coincidence.

So, what did I do? Well, I did this:

To: Federal Republic of Germany Prosecutor
Re: Criminal complaint

Dear Prosecutor for the Federal Republic of Germany

It has come to my attention the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR) has filed a criminal complaint either on behalf of, or directly relevant to, (former) CIA officer Sabrina De Sousa (see attached 1.) This communication is a cross-filing requesting 1) the De Sousa related ECCHR criminal complaint be expanded to include my alleged encounter with De Sousa in Wiesbaden, Germany, Summer of 2008 (see attached 2.)

In that I am alleging circumstance pointing to Sabrina De Sousa in collusion with the attempted rendition and/or murder of myself on German soil, it is requested all of the possible sources, whether German law enforcement, or German intelligence agencies be made to surrender their records for purposes of prosecution without regard for political considerations or alliance; in that it cannot be in the best interest of the German state to countenance attempted rendition and/or assassination in deference to political interests within German institutions, nor on behalf of state actors and alliances originating exterior to the borders of Germany but complicit in crimes on German soil.

Mr Strobele, as a member of the German Parliament intelligence oversight committee, has been apprised of my circumstance for quite some time; and has sat on his hands despite my having confirmation he is in receipt of my mails and information. As well, the several German security institutions I further allege are well informed as to the facts of my case, have failed to act previous to this; yet there is no hesitation to preemptively arrest and pursue prosecution of non-state terror actors without requiring the niceties of the intended victims/targets filing a complaint. In this instance I am also requesting the German government investigate itself per the lack of enforcing the law and insuring norms of a civilized, democratic society bound to the rule of law are upheld in future.

Wherever direction this charade takes, it is my intent the CIA/German authorities/De Sousa/VICE/ECCHR parties will not have the idea there would be no one willing to call their charade precisely what it is:

What the western press will not report; United Nations General Secretary Ban Ki Moon stating:

“The future of President Assad must be decided by the Syrian people. It is totally unfair and unreasonable one person takes the whole political negotiation process hostage

“The Syrian government insists that President Assad should be part of [the transitional government]; many countries, particularly the West, say that there is no place for him

“Because of this we have lost three years, with more than 250,000 dead, more than 13 million people, over half of the population, is displaced inside Syria in urgent need of humanitarian aid, more than 50% of hospitals, schools and infrastructure have been destroyed”

Now, how does one read this? If you carefully look at the context indicating Assad’s future is up to the Syrian people in the first sentence, the second sentence of the 1st paragraph only makes sense if Moon is referring to the 2nd paragraph’s western demands Assad must go is how it came about one person ‘takes the whole negotiation process hostage.’

Time, CNN, Washington Post, New York Times and the lot of America’s CIA media whores…

“The Central Intelligence Agency owns everyone of any significance in the major media” -William Colby, former CIA Director

…will never report the United Nations Secretary General has pointed his finger squarely at the Western democracies as responsible for the train wreck that is Syria –

A necessary post; having previously pushed Zero Hedge as a good source.

This one is firstly about following the money. And then, it’s about that money purchasing the hemlock fed to the masses via media. Then, it’s about Zero Hedge taking a drink of the hemlock spiked Kool-Aid. And finally, it’s about correcting the record.

Following the money. The long time CIA liaised Ford Foundation is a philanthropic front for laundering money to ‘alternative media’ (among other projects), where the message is shaped to taste of those social psychology trained, professional information operations specialists operating out of Langley, Virginia. One of the beneficiaries of the Ford Foundation largess is The Nation Institute, sponsor of TomDispatch. Tom Engelhardt, a clinical example of a narcissist who recently used the personal pronoun ‘I’ 49 times in a single article, runs TomDispatch.

Engelhardt’s ‘alternative media’ is perhaps best described as a ‘woe is me’ professional hand-wringing that more often than not, appears to seek instilling a sense of helplessness through what appears on its face to be carefully detailed outrageous acts of government that is long on generic ‘we’ve been here before’ lessons and short on incisive insights to the actual goings on; for instance, what appear to be intelligence failures due to some science fiction worthy, byzantine bureaucratic monolith, at fault. But in fact, his disingenuous analysis detracts from the reality, one could say conceals the facts, of an intense criminal endeavor that must be papered over in order to shield the perpetrators – in this case, the CIA.

So, Engelhardt begins his ‘Fog of Intelligence‘ disinformation piece with:

1,500. That figure stunned me. I found it in the 12th paragraph of a front-page New York Times story about “senior commanders” at U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) playing fast and loose with intelligence reports to give their air war against ISIS an unjustified sheen of success: “CENTCOM’s mammoth intelligence operation, with some 1,500 civilian, military, and contract analysts, is housed at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, in a bay front building that has the look of a sterile government facility posing as a Spanish hacienda.”

Engelhardt has just set his readers up with an exaggeration concealing the facts. We’ll come back to this. Englehardt goes on:

Think about that. CENTCOM, one of six U.S. military commands that divide the planet up like a pie, has at least 1,500 intelligence analysts (military, civilian, and private contractors) all to itself. Let me repeat that: 1,500 of them. CENTCOM is essentially the country’s war command, responsible for most of the Greater Middle East, that expanse of now-chaotic territory filled with strife-torn and failing states that runs from Pakistan’s border to Egypt. That’s no small task and about it there is much to be known. Still, that figure should act like a flash of lightning, illuminating for a second an otherwise dark and stormy landscape.

Now, Englehardt, incorporating melodramatic prose to an article that rips American intelligence as essentially failed, rubs (or attempts to rub) into the readers mind the ‘one thousand, five hundred’ CENTCOM intelligence analysts who will have (the article implies throughout) failed to produce a useful product on the Middle East. To demonstrate this (without having to dissect the entire 2,800 word article) we only need look at Egelhardt’s ‘facts’ concerning Iraq, proposing:

At that time, U.S. military leaders and top administration officials right up to President Obama were, as the Wall Street Journal reported, “caught off guard by the swift collapse of Iraqi security forces” and the successes of the Islamic State in northern Iraq. Peter Baker and Eric Schmitt of the Times wrote in retrospect, “Intelligence agencies were caught off guard by the speed of the extremists’… advance across northern Iraq.” And don’t forget that, despite that CENTCOM intelligence machine, something similar happened in May 2015 when, as Washington Post columnist David Ignatius put it, U.S. officials and American intelligence were “blindsided again” by a very similar collapse of Iraqi forces in the city of Ramadi in al-Anbar Province.

Recalling Carl Bernstein (CIA and the Media) “The Agency’s relationship with [The New York] Times was by far its most valuable among newspapers, according to CIA officials. [It was] general Times policy … to provide assistance to the CIA whenever possible.”

And CIA Veteran Melvin Goodman’s take on the Washington Post’s novelist-contributor David Ignatius is “Mainstream media’s apologist for the CIA”… have a read of the Defense Intelligence Agency’s EXCELLENT assessment of the event’s Engelhardt presents as intelligence failures in Iraq:

^

Notably from the DIA assessment:

“this creates the ideal atmosphere for AQI [al-Qaida in Iraq] to return to its old pockets in Mosul and Ramadi, and will provide a renewed momentum under the presumption of unifying the jihad among Sunni Iraq and Syria and the rest of the Sunnis in the Arab world against what it considers one enemy, the dissenters [Shia Islam] ISI could also declare an Islamic state through its union with other terrorist organizations in Iraq and Syria, which will create grave danger in regards to unifying Iraq and the protection of its territory.

In fact CENTCOM had all of the timely (the DIA analysis is from 2012) information it needed to cope with the circumstance unfolding in Iraq that Engelhardt (parroting the NY Times and Washington Post) blames on intelligence failure. That we know the DIA assessment was discussed at the highest levels is revealed by then head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, General Mike Flynn, where the gift of Western Iraq to what became Islamic State, in General Flynn’s words “was a willful policy decision”

What General Flynn cannot say but is available from numerous open sources is, it was a CIA strategy (no doubt recorded in the redacted portions of the DIA assessment) to empower Salafist militia, inclusive of al-Qaida, leading to the rise of Islamic State, as a policy pointed towards the overthrow of Assad in Syria:

Frequently the man who carried out dirty jobs, Bandar bin Sultan … return in July 2012, alongside former CIA Director David Petraeus, was his final bet on the success of his political future.

Bandar had been bold enough to invest all his cards, including al-Qaeda, to win the deal of his life by overthrowing the Syrian regime.

Clearly the CIA cannot have it be widely known what are named ‘intelligence failures’ by Engelhardt concerning Iraq are in actuality clearly articulated, calculated risks that have imploded precisely per the Defense Intelligence Agency assessment prediction and were a “willful policy decision.”

TomDispatch has just covered the CIA’s butt in this matter, this much is clear. Even more disturbing (from yours truly point of view) is, Zero Hedge, more typically a reliable source, has picked up this hemlock and drank it down. The CIA’s information operations people will take what they can get, every time.

Engelhardt’s exaggeration concerning the 1,500 CENTCOM analysts would be, 20 nations; Afghanistan, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan and Yemen, split evenly between countries, equals 75 analysts per nation. With several senior analysts per country in charge of work product and building the assessments, example given, would be perfectly manageable and far removed from the artificial reality created by Engelhardt.

Postscript would be, the going on four years CIA program laundering weapons and training to Salafist militia via the fig leaf ‘Free Syrian Army’ is almost certainly why the Americans refuse to share intelligence with the Russians on Islamic State, Al-Nusra and other radical groups; because there are no moderates aligned with the USA, the only real moderates are on the side of Assad. Anyone with common sense would only have to look at lesson of Libya to know which side they’d wish to join –

Update: zerohedge goes on to publish an article by Eric Zuesse, giving impression the “28 pages” will point to Saudi Arabia’s employ of al-Qaida as the sole responsible actors for 9/11 (altogether ignoring, among many other things, Dick Cheney’s role)
