Descartes believed in God, and one can extrapolate from that, a heaven. And you’d have to believe in a heaven to set yourself up with a fatal trap you don’t know how to undo. Sort of like the trap where technology to clean up, and dispose of, the melted cores at Fukushima hasn’t been invented yet; recalling Einstein’s much neglected observation:
“We cannot solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them”
Applying a spiritual dimension to this, It’d make much more sense to assert ‘man made god in man’s image’ considering the stupidity of our divine inspirations, not only origins:
“It is not yet known if the fuel melted into or through the containment vessel’s concrete floor, and determining the fuel’s radioactivity and location is crucial to inventing the technology to remove the melted fuel”
In other words, General Electric & Westinghouse et al, had sent our world’s population off to enjoy a nuclear skydiving hobby, the planes are provided for your opportunity to jump, and you’re provided a placebo parachute, because the ripcord hasn’t been invented yet. Uh… heaven bound? Just wait, it gets ‘better.’

Well, that’s quite a mouth-full, but, maybe there’s someone out there with similar but better distilled observation:

And so it is ‘human consciousness’, a-la-Cartesian ‘objectivity’ based in ‘science’, with all of its glorious empirical dogma, creates a machine that, when it breaks, not only is it incredibly toxic, the technology to clean it up hasn’t been invented yet. Chimps were never so stupid. When the behaviorists invented a scale comparing a chimp’s IQ to that of a human, we should probably have named it the human ‘narciss-o-meter’
I once heard a Native American tell a joke story about an indigenous champion wrestler. In short, when this Indian had finally earned a shot at a professional championship match, he had to meet ‘The Pretzel’ with a reputation for turning his opponents into German pastry. When this Indian had been put into ‘the pretzel hold’ and his demise was assured, his coaching corner couldn’t bear to watch and averted their eyes. But when they looked again, their Indian was standing with referee holding his arm in the air, he’d won! Asked “HOW DID YOU DO IT?!” The Indian replied: “It was all but over. The Pretzel had me in his pretzel hold. It was then, I felt something, hanging in front of my face, and I bit it. You know, it is amazing what a man can do when he bites himself in the balls.”
Now, what this next has to do with ‘man’ biting himself in the balls, and if that’s actually an ‘objective’ solution, I will leave to your conjecture:
Suppose, in 2029 or 2019, next week, or whenever, a sun generated electro-magnetic pulse destroys a major portion of, or all of the Northern hemisphere’s large transformers, critical to propping up (the heart of) the grid and the replacements are not yet manufactured. It follows, all of the available reserve resources have to be, first and foremost, directed to keeping Europe’s 186, and the USA’s 104, of the world’s five hundred or so nuclear reactors, cooled. This happens from fuel reserves which must be pumped from underground storage; and the only means to do that is to use severely limited above ground fuel reserves to recover and deliver the fuel necessary to cool the unspent & spent cores and manufacturing the many heavy transformers & repairing the grid will require years, possibly decades. But, social upheaval, related to immediate survival, prevented this. Five hundred Fukushimas (shortly) later, and then two hundred million years into the future, radiation adapted ‘intelligent’ life manifests, descended from cockroaches, who reinvent Fukushima:
I stole this preceding story (and ‘modified’ it) from a neocon with a habit of lying or self-deceit, I’m not certain which, or maybe he went as far as he thought he could run with the EMP-transformers-grid scenario and hoped someone would fill in what amounts to ‘lies by omission.’ In any case, the guy had been kicked out of the Bush Jr neocon ‘intelligence’ circle, no matter the reasons given, that almost makes him smell right.
In his: Worst Case EMP Scenario? Half in the U.S. Dead that could been titled ‘best case EMP scenario’ Michael Maloof cites NASA as a source:
“with an electromagnetic pulse, or EMP, generated from the sun’s flares – some of which can be up to 10 times the size of the Earth – the unprotected grid, including transformers, electrical components and automated control systems that everyone takes for granted in their everyday lives, could either be severely damaged or fried, taking months if not years to replace.
“NASA estimates that a direct hit to Earth from one of these enormous flares would have a catastrophic impact on the nation’s critical infrastructures over a very wide geographical area.
“In the first year alone, NASA estimates, such a disaster could cost just the U.S. upwards of $2 trillion. It also would take from four to 10 years to recover – if that even would be possible – and affect the lives of some 160 million people, threatening starvation and death.
“Some EMP experts say that such a catastrophic event could wipe out America’s urban centers, due to their total dependency on critical infrastructures for electricity, communications, food and water delivery, oil and gas, transportation, automated banking and financial institutions and even emergency services.
“The experts say grocery stores, for example, would have their shelves cleared in a matter of hours due to the panic that would sweep the population. Normally, grocery stores carry a maximum of three days of products before being restocked. However, restocking would come to a halt due to the inability of trucks to function, with fueling stations unable to pump the fuel needed to run the vehicles”
Nowhere in his article does Maloof mention what happens to the nuclear reactors. What the f**k does NASA actually think happens with those? Oh, that’s right, we can generate a plan and pull it out of our anus when an EMP hits, because we never figured out what we’d do about it, prior to it happening. Just like Fukushima.
Do you suppose, with the real ‘worst case scenario’ on their desks (it’s impossible to imagine this ‘problem’ has never been identified) those ‘powers that be’ would begin dismantling the world’s nuke plants, post-haste? Nah. Too much ‘quality of life’ loss for the shareholder. They’ll build you a virtual space-ark instead and you know where that actually leaves you, dear reader, that is ‘in situ’, or just another body in a very wide-spread mulch pile that will be a feast for the cockroaches.
