The Nation

^ The Nation Magazine’s journalistic twin

No, I’ve not become an unabashed supporter of Marine Le Pen. And I am not in love with Putin’s conservatism in every respect. But the thing is, when truth is trashed by the neo-liberal left, it should be exposed equally as to any truths trashed by the neo-conservative right. Where Putin, Le Pen and Farage stand head and shoulders above Obama, Hollande, Cameron and Merkel is, Putin, Le Pen and Farage have some degree of principled ethics which are actually meant to be put into practice, as opposed to the political lies of the western political personalities and pundits, so easily and naturally expressed (and exposed I might add.)

The so-called ‘left-liberal-progressive’ “NATION” magazine has become, over this past decade, a shameless disinformation yellow sheet (or ‘rag’) little better than the “National Enquirer” in respect to factual reporting. Hosting guests such as Zbigniew Brzezinski, and with columnists such as Robert ‘Bob’ Dreyfuss, recalls George Orwell…

“The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which”

…considering the neo-liberal foreign policy wonks cannot be distinguished from the neo-conservative, let alone distinguish for themselves the difference between a legitimate conservative and a Nazi. I had already dealt with Brzezinski’s geopolitical lies and now it is Dreyfuss turn. Dreyfuss opens his 30 May 2014 column at The Nation with:

“The scary fascists who, according to Russia, have taken over Ukraine since the “coup d’état” and ousted the former president didn’t do too well. Who did do well were the actual scary fascists in Western Europe who were supported by, well, Russia. According to one report:

“”The supposed reservoirs of reactionary thinking in Western Ukraine generated an embarrassing 1 percent of the vote for Oleh Tyagnibok of ultra-nationalist Svoboda Party and less than 1 percent for Dmitry Yarosh of the new Right Sector party that sprung up during the protests. A story run by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency notes that Tyagnibok and Yarosh together received fewer votes than Vadim Rabinovich, a Jewish candidate who captured a little over 2 percent of the ballots””

“There’s no doubt that Svoboda and Right Sector are bad actors. But the overweening propaganda from Moscow claiming that Kiev is being ruled by “fascists” is now proved to be ridiculous. (Not that Moscow’s propaganda since the Ukraine crisis erupted has been anything but ridiculous, starting with its claims that it wasn’t invading Crimea and its claims that it isn’t secretly behind the eruption of ersatz “people’s republics” in Eastern Ukraine’s Donets Basin region.)”

This sort of drivel is why I’d long since cancelled my subscription to The Nation. In fact Svoboda still has 37 seats in parliament and five ministries in the CIA supported, putsch installed regime in Kiev. But somehow Dreyfuss would have us all believe one recently elected candy oligarch, who has not dropped a line coming from the authentic fascists holding Parliament and larger government hostage in Kiev, is a substitute for Fall elections, before we can know the rest of the story. At the pace things are moving in Ukraine, Fall is a very long ways off.

And then Dreyfuss goes on:

“Meanwhile, the elections for the European Parliament—admittedly, a weak institution—reflect a troubling shift toward right-wing, fascist-leaning and ultra-nationalist politics in several European countries, including France and Great Britain. While some left-leaning parties did well, too, the biggest gains were made by parties such as the UK Independence Party, France’s National Front and a pair of far-right Greek parties. As I wrote in this space on May 21, Russia has formed an anti-EU alliance of convenience with many of these self-same fascist parties in Europe”

In fact the UK Independence Party is quite a long a stretch to compare to the neo-nazis in Kiev. It is only recently UKIP has been smeared as fascist and racist, when it became apparent voters were turned off by the neo-conservative/neo-liberal partnership of Cameron-Clegg and wanting nothing to do with the neo-liberal legacy of Tony Blair represented in the Labor Party, had turned to the man who was making desperately desired common sense on an out of control European Union: Nigel Farange.

Marine Le Pen’s National Front is another long stretch to compare to avowed neo-nazis such as the Ukrainian Svoboda party. Marine Le Pen’s political philosophy:

“advocates to “restore the political framework of the national community” and to implement the direct democracy which enables the “civic responsibility and the collective tie” thanks to the participation of public-spirited citizens for the decisions. The predominant political theme was the uncompromising defence of a protective and efficient State, which favours secularism, prosperity and liberties. She also denounced the “Europe of Brussels” which “everywhere imposed the destructive principles of ultra-liberalism and Free trade, at the expense of public utilities, employment, social equity and even our economic growth which became within twenty years the weakest of the world””

Compare this preceding to the facts as laid out by renown scholar Robert English, commenting on Ukraine’s Svoboda and Right Sector controlling events from Kiev:

“These are groups whose thuggish young legions still sport a swastika-like symbol, whose leaders have publicly praised many aspects of Nazism and who venerate the World War II nationalist leader Stepan Bandera, whose troops occasionally collaborated with Hitler’s and massacred thousands of Poles and Jews.

“But scarier than these parties’ whitewashing of the past are their plans for the future. They have openly advocated that no Russian language be taught in Ukrainian schools, that citizenship is only for those who pass Ukrainian language and culture exams, that only ethnic Ukrainians may adopt Ukrainian orphans and that new passports must identify their holders’ ethnicity — be it Ukrainian, Pole, Russian, Jew or other”

To conflate the Ukrainian Svoboda & Right Sector with UKIP & LePen’s National Front, labeling them collectively fascist, and this is what Dreyfuss attempts to do, lends an understanding to the conservative alliance of Putin, Farage and LePen… they all share in common being smeared by western media elements. In fact were there any truth in Dreyfuss’ assertions (and Western media generally) concerning the character of UKIP & National Front, they would be on the side of Kiev rather than Putin. In fact Marine Le Pen rejects the NDP & Golden Dawn extreme right or neo-nazi parties Dreyfuss insinuates are consistent or complicit with Le Pen’s National Front in the Europen Parliament. The more honest facts of the matter are, Germany’s support of Kiev is factually sympathetic to the neo-nazi Svoboda party, with Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democrats authentic Nazi legacy in cooperation with known neo-nazis, is well documented. Recalling the election for Ukrainian parliament are put off to Fall and neo-nazis remain in control of Ukraine in the meanwhile, Dreyfuss stating…

“the overweening propaganda from Moscow claiming that Kiev is being ruled by “fascists” is now proved to be ridiculous”

…is simply the worst sort of ‘overweening’ propaganda.

I’ll simply go on to note as an analyst of many years, what Dreyfuss presents in his article falls under the process of invention (fantasy.) On the other hand, Russian propaganda works because it employs a superior technique to western propaganda. The Russian method is minimal omissions of fact in the narrative, whereas the western method is largely broadcasting inventions. At the end of the day, when it comes to thinking people willing to cross check a few facts, the Russians omitting 10% of the reality, or less tampering with the facts, is by far superior to the western press, in this case Dreyfuss inventing 90% of the picture or better said, illusion. In fact RT (Russian TV) has been providing reliable video of the new Ukrainian National Guard (i.e. Svoboda militia) indiscriminately shooting civilians. Nothing quite like ‘seeing is believing.’ The Nation could do better but has a long ways to go, to become as competent as Russian propaganda. They cannot match the Russians when it so happens the facts more or less line up on Putin’s side… or better said, so long as the editorial board at the Nation is willing to insult people’s intelligence with the rot we see in articles like Dreyfuss presents.

Meanwhile, there are stories the Nation doesn’t touch with a ten foot pole, like how Obama is pursuing liberal/criminal policy wonk Zbigneiw Brzezinki’s ‘grand chessboard’ strategy of cornering and attempting to isolate Russia. Or how creating insurgencies prop up the western economies and how Ukraine plays in that.

You’ve heard of ‘you are what you eat’? The Nation would prefer ‘you are what you think.’ Unfortunately, in the case of the USA supported putsch regime in Ukraine, they’d like you to think along the lines of George Orwell’s observation:

“In the case of a word like DEMOCRACY, not only is there no agreed definition, but the attempt to make one is resisted from all sides. It is almost universally felt that when we call a country democratic we are praising it: consequently the defenders of every kind of régime claim that it is a democracy, and fear that they might have to stop using the word if it were tied down to any one meaning. Words of this kind are often used in a consciously dishonest way”

The Nation, per Orwell’s observation, demonstrates itself a consciously dishonest publication

The Washington Post and Double Think

When, in the span of six weeks, the Washington Post both; gives a soap box to Zbigniew Brzezinski and receives a Pulitzer Prize for reporting on the Snowden leaks, a thoughtful person might be inclined to ‘think twice.’

Brzezinski’s ‘service’ to the USA has included advising figures from Jimmy Carter to Barack Obama, including the first USA [CIA] involvement in Afghanistan in 1979, and he is one of the architects of policy that has resulted in the rise of militant Islam. It is interesting to me a media outlet that provides platform for world class criminals, is lauded as a giant of journalism. The prize might have better been awarded solely to the Guardian journalists who met with Snowden and passed on the material to secondary outlets in media. Instead, we have an oxymoron; purveyors [The Washington Post] of criminal wonks [Brzezinski, among others] and their vicious ideation responsible for incalculable social damage world-wide, lauded as heroes of journalism.

George Orwell’s original term was not ‘double speak’ or ‘double talk’ but actually is ‘double think’

“Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them” -George Orwell

‘Simultaneous’ & ‘accepting’ points to a complete lack of normal brain function. The normal reaction [in a healthy mind] should be ‘cognitive dissonance’, perhaps best explained as ‘grotesque reflex’ of mental state or distress caused by mental apprehension of irreconcilable phenomena.

A comprehensive lack of cognitive dissonance, in face of irreconcilable ideation, points to a clear mental disorder. This mental disorder patently manifests in narcissist sociopath personalities, lacking any sense of taking responsibility for consequence.

For instance, Brzezinski’s replies to the questions…

Q: And neither do you regret having supported the Islamic [integrisme], having given arms and advice to future terrorists?

Brzezinski: What is most important to the history of the world? The Taliban or the collapse of the Soviet empire? Some stirred-up Moslems or the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the cold war?

Q: Some stirred-up Moslems? But it has been said and repeated: Islamic fundamentalism represents a world menace today.

Brzezinski: Nonsense! It is said that the West had a global policy in regard to Islam. That is stupid. There isn’t a global Islam. Look at Islam in a rational manner and without demagoguery or emotion. It is the leading religion of the world with 1.5 billion followers. But what is there in common among Saudi Arabian fundamentalism, moderate Morocco, Pakistan militarism, Egyptian pro-Western or Central Asian secularism? Nothing more than what unites the Christian countries.

…altogether ignores the fact of Brzezinski, as Carter’s National Security Advisor, dispatched USA support to rebels in Afghanistan in 1979, an endeavor put into hyperdrive by [Obama’s first Secretary of Defense] Robert Gates during the Reagan administration, resulted in the rise not only of the Taliban and al-Qaida but turned Afghanistan into the world’s leading supplier of heroin.

“Political language — and with variations this is true of all political parties, from Conservatives to Anarchists — is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind” -George Orwell

In any ‘healthy’ mentality, there would be some sense of contrition in having initiated the policy that had, over the ensuing years, resulted in the 21st century global jihad. Brzezinski experiences no indication of contrition [taking responsibility] and he experiences no sense of cognitive dissonance either. Now, let’s look at the Washington Post providing Brzezinski a soap box on Ukraine:

“Regarding the Russian aggression against Ukraine, much depends on what Vladimir Putin does next. But what Putin does depends on not only his calculation of the likely NATO (and especially the U.S.) response but also his estimate of how fiercely the Ukrainian people would respond to any further escalation by Russia. And, to complete the circle, the Ukrainian response would be influenced by citizens’ reaction to any repetition of Putin’s Crimean aggression and by whether the nation believes that the United States and NATO are truly supportive.

To begin with, career Russia hater and author of ‘The Grand Chessboard’ demanding Russia be cornered and isolated to the benefit of USA world domination, casts Russia as the instigator in Ukraine, following a USA supported putsch placing neo-nazis in power in a nation Putin had been telling the western democracies for six years to stay out and not meddle.

“Putin’s thuggish tactics in seizing Crimea offer some hints regarding his planning. He knew in advance that his thinly camouflaged invasion would meet with popular support from the Russian majority in Crimea. He was not sure how the thin and light Ukrainian military units stationed there would react, so he went in masked like a Mafia gangster. In the event of serious Ukrainian resistance, he could disown the initiative and pull back.

Anyone who’d acquired a C+ in the history of the former USSR would know the Russian ethnic majority of Crimeans would welcome a return to Russia with open arms. Putin knew this. Where Brzezinski lies with a clear conscience is in regards to this is, Crimea was the territory of Russia for two hundred years, to 1954, when Khruschev made a technical transfer of Crimea to Ukraine to put work on a canal under a single administrative body. The Crimeans not only celebrated their return to Russia, two thirds of the Ukrainian military stationed in Crimea defected to Russia or changed sides. Crimea had been historically, linguistically, culturally and factually Russia/Russian in everything but name. There was ZERO chance of ‘serious Ukrainian resistance’ but Brzezinski cannot pass up a chance to pose Putin as a thug and coward. The man knows no sense of shame.

“His initial success may tempt him to repeat that performance more directly in the far eastern provinces of Ukraine. If successful, the conclusive third phase could then be directed, through a combination of political unrest and increasingly overt use of Russian forces, to overthrow the government in Kiev. The result would thus be similar to the two phases of Hitler’s seizure of the Sudetenland after Munich in 1938 and the final occupation of Prague and Czechoslovakia in early 1939.

Here, Brzezinski projects a nonsensical historical comparison; the government in Prague was not toppled by forces threatening to Hitler, nor were the ethnic Germans being persecuted by a non-existent power hostile to Germany on its borders … and Putin is not the leader of a NAZI state, rather the reverse is true. The neo-nazi regime installed by the USA in Ukraine, on the other hand, has demonstrated extreme hostility to the large ethic Russian population, and the new leadership in Kiev has demonstrable NAZI roots represented in the five ministries held by the neo-nazi Svoboda party. Notice Brzezinski demonstrates no sense of cognitive dissonance, nor does he blink an eye over this next shameless lie:

“Much depends on how clearly the West conveys to the dictator in the Kremlin — a partially comical imitation of Mussolini and a more menacing reminder of Hitler — that NATO cannot be passive if war erupts in Europe. If Ukraine is crushed while the West is simply watching, the new freedom and security in bordering Romania, Poland and the three Baltic republics would also be threatened.

If Ukraine is ‘crushed’, it will consist of Putin doing exactly what he has stated will be his intention to do, were the nazis in Kiev to follow through with a large scale persecution of Ukraine’s ethnic Russians … put a stop to the nonsense unleashed on Russia’s very doorstep. Russian will go no further than push the Ukrainian military out of the majority Russian areas of a nation [Ukraine] with unnatural borders, deeply dividing a populace with a historical split, western Ukraine’s sympathies are with western Europe and eastern Ukraine’s sympathies are with Russia. The parties behaving like Hitler are the western democracies who’ve been fanning the fires in Ukraine and tossing a civil war in Russia’s face. These are problems Putin does not need or want but also problems he cannot ignore.

“This does not mean that the West, or the United States, should threaten war. But Russia’s unilateral and menacing acts mean the West should promptly recognize the current government of Ukraine as legitimate. Uncertainty regarding its legal status could tempt Putin to repeat his Crimean charade. The West also should convey — privately at this stage, so as not to humiliate Russia — that the Ukrainian army can count on immediate and direct Western aid so as to enhance its defensive capabilities. There should be no doubt left in Putin’s mind that an attack on Ukraine would precipitate a prolonged and costly engagement, and Ukrainians should not fear that they would be left in the lurch.

Brzezinski, who is proud he was able to draw the USSR into Afghanistan, bragging he’d handed the Russians their own Vietnam, is promoting a repeat, and the Washington Post has provided the soap box. There can be no doubt in Brzezinski’s mind that Putin will be forced to act in the circumstance of chaos delivered by the USA’s geo-political sleight-of-hand and then the finger pointed at Putin as the aggressor. Brzezinski is a shameless liar and no matter war breaking out could lead at some point to escalation including tactical nuclear weapons, were NATO to become involved, this is good in the mind of Brzezinski, if it serves his ‘Grand Chessboard.’

“Meanwhile, NATO forces, consistent with the organization’s contingency planning, should be put on alert. High readiness for some immediate airlift to Europe of U.S. airborne units would be politically and militarily meaningful. If the West wants to avoid a conflict, there should be no ambiguity in the Kremlin as to what might be precipitated by further adventurist use of force in the middle of Europe.

Brzezinski is saying here, throughout, goad, lie, provoke, lie, call names, lie, arm up, lie, escalate, lie, and call for peaceful accommodation:

“In addition, such efforts to avert miscalculations that could lead to a war should be matched by a reaffirmation of the West’s desire for a peaceful accommodation with Russia regarding a joint effort to help Ukraine recover economically and stabilize politically. The West should reassure Russia that it is not seeking to draw Ukraine into NATO or to turn it against Russia. Ukrainians themselves can define the depth of their closeness to Europe and the scope of their economic cooperation with Russia, to the benefit of peace and stability in Europe. And after their May elections, they can revise some of the arrangements for a special status for Crimea, but they should not do so under duress or attack from a neighbor driven by imperial or personal ambitions”

And so, our soap box protagonist, Zbigniew Brzezinski, author of his personal imperial ambition named the Grand Chessboard, closes with pointing to Putin as the imperial ambition, when Putin has actually been placed in impossible circumstance demanding action on behalf of the ethnic Russians of east Ukraine, by the geopolitical engineering of the USA, with Putin cast as the boogeyman. This is really very much like the schoolyard bully, USA, smashing the smaller kids [Ukraine’s Russian minority] face and then crying to the neighborhood ‘look what little Billy [lying on the ground bleeding] did to my fists!’ And expect Putin would stand back and do nothing? This is messing with the wrong man. Europe should rethink its relationship of political fellatio to USA and NATO because ‘war is peace’ & ‘newspeak’ freaks like Brzezinski and his numerous fans at USA Department of State, CIA and NATO have no sense of reality. They are neither ‘normal’ nor ‘healthy.’

“For America, the chief geopolitical prize is Eurasia… Now a non-Eurasian power is preeminent in Eurasia – and America’s global primacy is directly dependent on how long and how effectively its preponderance on the Eurasian continent is sustained” -Zbigniew Brzezinski writes in ‘The Grand Chessboard

This immediate preceding Brzezinski position on projecting USA empire is at odds a full 180 degrees with what he professes (blames/projects) onto Russia in his Washington Post editorial on Ukraine. Here he admits the USA is the region’s imperial aggressor. If Orwell were here to ask, I would ask him if what he had noticed in people is the phenomena I have noticed; some people seem to have ‘cellularized’ sets of mutually exclusive ‘facts’ they (consciously or unconsciously) shift between, with no noticeable level of psychological discomfort. Brezezinski strikes me as one of these people.

In the end, a media outlet, in this case the Washington Post, giving platform to such depraved criminal mentality, should be disqualified from any journalistic recognition other than propagandist for the criminally insane-

Words of this kind are often used in a consciously dishonest way” -George Orwell

Meanwhile, think about it … in regards to media, do the western democracies geopolitical propaganda and depraved acts, promoted by the Washington Post and other outlets, meet Orwell’s description of ‘words used in a consciously dishonest way?’ Methinks: yes.

At the end of the day, it would appear that in any democracy, ethics, self restraint, tolerance and honesty will always play second fiddle to narcissism, avarice, bigotry & persecution, if only because people who play by the rules in any democracy, are at a disadvantage to those who easily subvert the rules to their own advantage.

The Arab Spring for Dummies, Syria Chemical Weapons edition

21 October 2015 update: a Turkish news outlet reports Turkey had been responsible for a false flag sarin gas attack blamed on Assad, according to two members of the Turkish parliament.

With the new alleged Chemical weapons attacks, RT (Russian TV) sensibly brings in British and American independent expert assessments but far more interesting to me is the fact of France 24 TV pointing the finger (the guy came across as a professional actor, scripted) at the Assad regime for refusing access to an onsite UN inspection team to the chemical attack site. Now, how is it the Assad regime is supposed to grant access to the site that happens to be in rebel controlled suburb of Damascus? Oh, and NO mention of the detail of rebel control of the chemical attack site by France 24, creating the clear impression solely Assad is blocking access. BBC parrots a similar line, BBC at least mentions in passing rebel control but far the greater emphasis is on Assad’s government supposedly denying access to the site they do not control. Then BBC airs a Syrian rebel ‘witness’ interview where the son of two chemical attack victims explains how he heard a bang, came downstairs to discover his parents convulsing and dying from the chemical attack but there is no asking him or questioning how it is he is apparently just fine, healthy and normal following what should have been his immediate and onsite exposure. WTF? I have military chemical weapons training, this is patent bullshit. I also have psychological operations training, and this is what I had just witnessed on BBC. In USA media the New York Times (in print) echoes the French line on Syria. Meanwhile the rebel political leadership in exile states the UN investigating team is welcome to the attack site but there is a complicating detail: they do not control the attack site either. The site is under control of independent Al Qaida aligned rebel brigades, the more effective opposition. But the disingenuous announcement by rebels who do not control the site gives the impression the ‘Syrian opposition’ is cooperating. Assad’s danger in allowing access is provision of mocked up evidence by the ‘opposition.’

On 27 August, the New York Times reports the UN investigating team is allowed to cross the combatant lines to investigate. In al-Nusra controlled area, the investigators come under sniper fire while escorted by Syrian security forces to the area. What is NOT mentioned is they had to leave the area after ½ hour. Real investigating is not going to be possible, and the investigators being allowed access results in the following media show; the New York Times employs a psychological operation where The UN team is reported to have initiated its investigation but never mentioning it had to be aborted in 30 minutes time. Interwoven in the same pages it is an expanded article reporting overwhelming and conclusive proof the Assad  regime has perpetrated the attack. This is classic psychological ploy leaving the reader with subliminal impression conflating the UN investigation with finding of Assad regime guilt. Reinforcing this mocked up conclusion are photo layouts describing the horror of the innocents experience. It will never be reported by the Times previous UN investigation in a separate attack had pointed to the Syrian opposition. And the rush is on to military intervention before any professional, impartial conclusions can be drawn by a forensics team only scratching the surface of what had actually happened.

On 28 August INTELNEWS.ORG reports Israel will supply evidence Assad’s brother commanded the Syrian army unit that perpetrated the chemical attack. That is really quite convenient. So, why aren’t they supplying this ‘evidence’ as an exhibit for the UN team in a proper investigation as opposed to giving it to the USA, Britain and France as justification to launch military operations at Syria? Apparently because the UN team has no mandate to determine responsibility, only whether chemicals had been used, also very convenient since a previous investigation had pointed to the rebels as the culprit. And with the Israelis coughing up the evidence, Germany, who is historically lukewarm when it comes to blatant NATO chicaneries, will roll over and play dead on the issue, these people think out every angle.

On 29 August British prime minister David Cameron, citing intelligence, admits to parliament there is no conclusive evidence Assad’s government perpetrated the attack. This is revealing of Obama’s political lies insisting the Americans are in possession of conclusive proof of Assad regime guilt, as the British and Americans share intelligence. Meanwhile the British parliament refuses to back any attack on Syria and Cameron’s hands are tied.

On 30 August, Obama has by now, with international support among his allies either crumbling or flat out rebelling, backed off to a point of ‘reiterating’ a ‘red line’ with a ‘wrist slap’ attack to ‘remind’ Assad he dare not exercise impunity and immediate regime change is off the table. So if indeed the chemical attack were a ruse by, or on behalf of, the so-called ‘rebels’, it has been somewhat successful were any attack to go forward and this is begging for more chemical attacks, benefiting Al Nusra (Al Qaida.) France continues to back Obama on attacking Syria.

Late developments on 30 August  (Central Europe Time) include NATO Secretary General ‘fog’ Rasmussen announcing (it would seem with much regret) NATO has dropped out; meaning a majority of NATO nations have blocked involvement and the USA-France neo-liberal alliance of Obama-Hollande are increasingly isolated, the question remains of whether France will be reduced to cheerleader to a USA solo-action.

No mention is made in mainstream western media of American government intelligence sources have leaked the news the secret report behind John Kerry’s ‘proof’ is by no means conclusive and American professionals’ assessment pointing to possible rebel responsibility for the chemical attack had been quashed and excluded from two reports, the secret report as well as John Kerry’s whitewash fed to the western press.

No mainstream western press mentions Israeli intelligence is responsible for the ‘electronic intercepts’ pinning the attack on Assad’s brother commanding the accused Syrian army units, but it comes out elsewhere this was ‘low level’ chatter and in no way can be traced back up the chain of command to Syrian army commanders, directly contradicting Kerry. Israel meanwhile claims it is completely uninvolved .. and so will be ‘defending itself’ and testing the USA commitment to defend Isarel were the fighting to escalate regionally. This raises a distinct possibility of a MOSSAD operation where Israeli agents staged a conversation for intercept. Why? Israeli prime minister ‘Bibi’ Netanyahu has been trying for years to get the USA’s backing for a war with Iran without result. With Iran committed to the defense of Syria, this may be a strategy the Israeli right wing has implemented.

By 31 August, Obama has been reduced to a snarling dog with its tail between legs, stating he has decided Syria “should” be attacked, avoiding the more certain “will” be attacked and has passed the buck to congress.  If congress says no, then he is off the hook for his big mouth drawing ‘red lines.’ The only question after is said and done would be if, and when, the next chemical attack blamed on Assad will be launched to rekindle world outrage in pursuit of covert agenda.

Question, would the Assad regime launch a chemical attack when they have the recent momentum rolling back the rebels, and a chemical attack by his regime is likely to bring in NATO air power on the side of the rebels? It makes no sense, as pointed out by an RT guest expert.

On the other hand, would Al Nusra (Al Qaida) stage a chemical attack if it would bring NATO fire power in supporting their forces? This is by far more likely, also pointed out by the RT guest expert. If there were a resulting attack by the USA on Assad, this would encourage more chemical incidents.

A third and the most likely option is, one or more unscrupulous intelligence agencies perpetrating a false flag attack to undermine Assad’s position. With the reaction coming from the USA and France, likely another attack could be staged.

Meanwhile, as NATO members USA, France and Britain’s media whip up a frenzy demanding Assad be punished and point to the very frenzy they are whipping up as international furor demanding Assad be punished with severe and rapid action. Russia calls for a through and impartial investigation but this item not mentioned in western press which rather points to Russia as stonewalling any action to punish a chemical weapons criminal Assad.

The Russian strategy appears to be simply present the facts; on account of the USA & NATO is so entirely corrupt in these matters, facts are all that should be necessary to counter the criminal policies of the west in the public forum. The USA and NATO strategy is to pound the public with lies in the belief if you misstate the facts often enough, misstated facts will become the public reality.

The Logical Conclusion:

Western media is under control of professional intelligence agency information operations or their corporate equals, milking anti-Assad propaganda generated by a false flag attack blaming Assad for an act perpetrated from territory controlled by Al Nusra (Al Qaida.) The practical result is, NATO members USA, Britain and France are allied with Al Nusra (Al Qaida.) The USA also has played in this alliance with opening the door to, and then looking the other way as Arab allies (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait) have shoveled weapons to Al Nusra (Al Qaida.) Meanwhile MOSSAD and CIA paramilitary are training Syrian Rebel commandos in elite special operations skills in the border area with Jordan and NATO’s Turkey is onboard as a CIA staging route for logistical support importing weapons for the rebels for the past two years at minimum. Jordan plays in this role as well.

The neo-liberal/neo-conservative alliance, Obama, Cameron, Hollande, is knocking off Syria as a stepping stone to knocking off Iran and that is Israel’s short term obsession in the affair. A larger, joint neo-liberal/neo-conservative goal is isolating and encircling Russia who does not play to the advantage of western corporate board interests. The marionettes pulling the strings? Bilderberg, Council on Foreign Relations and a whole plethora of related, corporate think-tanks propped up with $$ from corporate boards with names across the spectrum of the alphabet; Chevron, Monsanto, Dow Chemical, Du Pont, Martin-Marietta, Lockheed, British Petroleum, Exxon-Mobile, Royal Dutch Shell, Halliburton, Raytheon, General Dynamics, and the list could go on for page after page.

The Illogical Conclusion:

Somehow these people believe they can play a colonial game that has gone on for centuries as though the world had not come into a nuclear age. Certain western democracies’ intelligence agencies stand by and/or participate in murder innocents by chemical attack without a qualm and/or allow it to be perpetrated by Al Qaida (and if necessary blamed on Al Qaida, a fallback position) in pursuit of corporate pecuniary interests. In the name of ‘human rights’ and ‘democracy’ 100,000 and more Syrians have been killed by fanning the flames of sectarian violence and pouring weapons into a deliberately inflamed inter-communal circumstance of violence and somehow this is supposedly a necessary thing for our world, our way of life and the pursuit of civilization.

The Consequence

The neo-conservative vision of Armageddon comes out the winner if this is allowed to go on. The Sunni ‘Awakening Councils’ created and trained in Iraq by David Patraeus that morphed into Al Qaida brigades and are presently represented in Al Nusra, will almost certainly prevail in Syria, setting off a second civil war there that absolutely will require intervention. Al Nusra veterans are returning to Iraq and intensifying the civil war there; set up by none other than David Patraeus, as his Christian Al Qaida “Officers Christian Fellowship” controlling the Pentagon pits their religious vision of an end times world conflagration set in the Middle East against a radicalized Shia Islam’s ayatollahs vision of end times world conflagration set in the middle east, each with a returning messiah. It doesn’t get much more stupid than this folks. All on account of greed, narcissism, resultant fanaticism and its associated lust for power. Meanwhile, Germany, the one NATO country that has seen similar sort of degenerate madness control its past, has leadership more concerned with selling tanks to Indonesia than making public any honest intelligence that should stop this madness in its tracks. Merkel is exceedingly shallow, myopic, cowardly and narcissistic, in short everything the world does NOT need in a leader (which, more or less, describes German politicians as a class.)

In this circumstance, Russia is not going to bite on Obama’s push for a drastic reduction in nuclear weapons on account of when Medvedev was president, Medvedev offered civil compromises based in solid principles of international law to NATO & the USA, and NATO & the USA gave him the middle finger; stabbed Medvedev in the back on Libya, the USA’s international Chamber of Commerce has been hijacking the former Soviet republics economies and the likes of Exxon-Mobile personalities, Kissinger and Cheney, sit on the boards of directors. On top of this, you had CIA manipulating Russian ‘human rights’ and ‘democracy’ organizations, resulting in Putin’s clampdown on liberalizing elements in Russia. Medvedev was the good cop. Now you’ve got Putin with all of the backbone needed to be the bad cop, and it is our western democracies own goddamn fault, we’re fucked so long as our leaders continue this direction, many millions will die and that’s the end of today’s story.
